They didn't even keep the complete DVD set in print, allowing bootleggers to run wild with it on sites like eBay.

There are probably more counterfeit complete sets floating around than legitimate sets.

Didn't someone famous(Alex Toth???) mentioned to the producers that he wanted the Superman TAS to be made a lot like the style of Batman TAS and of course,they didn't ,which made for a very disappointing cookie cutter type series.

I have the dvd sets and they are great.

If you already have those why would you need the box set?

Well for one, there was an exclusive bonus disc of worthy extras. I also thought the packaging was far better. Also IMO, the accompanying book was one of the rare examples where it actually was worth owning.
