re: Condor (Now on EPIX)

I completely missed this story in December. But they show is moving to EPIX. Season 1 will re-air in March and season 2 will air later on. Season 2 was shot in 2018/2019, but was left in limbo after Audience network went under.

Apparently the second aired in some territories overseas.

I forgot about this show.

Not sure if I even watched the entire season.

For the 5 people here who have EPIX, season 2 premieres tonight. This was filmed almost 3 years ago and is likely the final season.

Here's the trailer.

This news is a few weeks old, but EPIX actually renewed this for a 3rd season:

https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/epi...ca-1235171401/

Returning for Season 3, “Condor” follows Joe Turner (Max Irons), a CIA case officer abroad who has become a foot soldier in the Agency’s Cold War against China for Africa’s substantial natural resources. But when conflict erupts in his own little corner of the continent, Joe has to prevent the proxy war from turning into World War III, even at the cost of what’s left of his soul. “Condor” Season 2 was executive produced by Jason Smilovic, Todd Katzberg, Andrew McCarthy, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Bill Bost, Shane Elrod, Brian Walsh, John Weber and Frank Siracusa. The series is a co-production by MGM Television and Skydance Television, in association with Paramount Television.

Hmm, I actually have EPIX. Might actually try checking out season 1 eventually.

Season 1 is a pretty good conspiracy action thriller and is mostly self contained. It has a good supporting cast with William Hurt, Mira Sorvino and Brenden Fraser. I haven’t really gotten to season 2 yet. Just so many things to watch.

That's very surprising, considering how long it took season 2 to get broadcast. I assumed that was done just to burn off the episodes. So Max is the only returning member of the cast? Everybody else will surely have moved on.

Season 2 was filmed almost 3 years ago with the intent of airing on DirecTV. Once the whole deal with scripted shows fizzled out when Audience Network was shut down, this was left in limbo. I too thought this was just a burnoff scenario. But, I guess EPIX likes the show. As for Max Irons, they will have to renegotiate his contract since it's under a new network and probably have to cast mostly new people for the 3rd season.

Did season 3 get stealth canceled? It has been more than a year since the renewal announcement and I haven't heard anything about this actually being in production.

As of January 2023, the head of MGM plus says it’s in “development”

The rebrand and transition probably caused the massive delay. The third season in my estimation is probably not a sure thing.

Going from "returning" to "in development" is definitely a downgrade.
