Pretty good episode, despite not much action from Eric vs terrorists. I liked it.
Good tie-in to Day 7 with the Starkwood mention.
All subplots clicked in this episode for me.

Yeah it was good. Not as absurd and over the top as the previous few weeks.
Glad that John was able to put 2 and 2 together and figure out that Nilaa was set up by Henry. He should have been more prepared and recorded that confession.
Carter breaking out Grimes to help orchestrate that deal is something that Jack would do. However, it didn't really have the same kind of gravitas of Jack doing it. Jack would have been a little more brutal.
The Nicole subplot kind of worked for me since they gave her a little backbone and she was able to break free from Ayesha and Jerome. I did
at Isaac's weak bluff with those drug dealers after Nicole warned him.
Yeah I did notice the very brief mention of Starkwood from Season 7 from Carter. I think that may also have a little tie-in to Tony whenever he does appear since he has knowledge of them.

I thought it was bad. This is a chore to get through. It is just repetitive of what came before it. I don't get bringing back a beloved show with a new cast and not offer anything new.
I did like the Starkwood reference.

After pushing a bunch of air into his system did they show the girl take out the syringe?

I didn't see anything that could have been her removing the syringe. We'll see how that part plays out, but's going to be pretty ridiculous (even for 24) if they somehow can't figure out how the boy died (if he's dead).

Here's Howard Gordon's comments about Jack Bauer:

Over the summer there were comments about Jack and Chloe still existing in the world of 24. Kiefer was quick to clarify he’s not going to appear. Was there a miscommunication and is it clear now?
Gordon: First of all, I’m so happy for Kiefer on Designated Survivor. Again, I really can’t speak for Kiefer and part of it is, and I’m not speaking for him, we would love at some point for Jack to find his way. He’s in Russia somewhere and what he’s doing and what’s happened to him, it would be great at some point, whether it’s a movie or whether it’s a crossover with this show, to tell the rest of that story. No plans on our part or his to make that happen.

Don't know how many of you noticed, but this episode used actual news footage from the Nairobi Mall Terror attack from 2013. When Ingram was reviewing the footage, she said it was a terror attack in Egypt.
When I saw the episode I knew the footage looked familiar as it was featured in an HBO documentary about the attack.
The Producers acknowledged they screwed up and shouldn't have used it. It will be edited out for future broadcasts.
