I guess everyone watched TWD instead. ;)

Great episode and they advanced the story a lot. They are not going in circles or keeping you waiting. Actually, I'm really amazed on how fast the story is advancing, the writing is almost perfect.

I am curious to see what happens when we hit the post-hiatus episodes.

Hiatus? You mean they're not running the season straight through?

No no, it's airing straight through. They shut down production of the series for a couple months to "get ahead of the writing" and better open the storyline up for season 2 and onward.

HBO’s next big series Westworld ran into its share of problems last fall when the network halted production so that its writers could "get ahead of the writing." It turns out that "getting ahead" meant laying out a roadmap for the show’s next five years.

Oh, yeah. Will we notice a change though? Between which episodes did they stop production?

I love this show, and I'm also relieved they have the entire series plotted ahead of time. Given how quickly things seem to be progressing with the hosts, I can't imagine where this show will be by season five.

I've gotta say, I would be exactly like Jimmi Simpson's white hat character in this world. That is exactly how I play games like Mass Effect.

Episodes 6 and 7 I believe.

I liked that they had a guest recognize Ed Harris' character and approach him star struck. The Man In Black takes roll-playing seriously and does NOT break character!

Any thoughts about what we saw Hopkins preparing? He's not who we thought he was. That lunch scene was creepy as Hell.

Oh and I forgot about Maeve's hiding place. Seeing those stack of drawings was pretty awesome. As was digging out the bullet from her abdomen. Looking forward to see where that story goes.

I'm weirdered out by that bullet. Why wouldn't they remove that when they do their daily(?) host clean up thing?

She woke up in the middle of surgery. So maybe when they got her back they forgot about the bullet, and just patched her quickly.

Yeah, I thought about all that confusion and the knuckleheads handling her clean up. I guess that's plausible.

Good episode this week - better than last week's, IMO. Curious to find out what Ford has planned for the park and yeah, pretty horrifying witnessing what Maeve is going through. They're doing a good job advancing the storyline of her revelations. The Man in Black had several good scenes as well.

Listen to the audio. One tech says he still needs to remove the bullet, and the other responds tha they don't have and to just close her up. That's how she knew it was there.

Yep, which is how you know things are going to go south for the poor sap since that's my playing style too and it usually doesn't end well.

So is the Man in Black the former partner of Ford?

Chuckled when the guy picked up the pistol from one of the hosts he shot and exclaimed about the new one being an upgrade.

I also think this episode was much more enjoyable than last week's, not that last week's was bad, just that this week's was terrific.

Man in Black talked about him (Arnold) like he was definitely someone else and that he had been killed, which of course could be a euphemism, but I doubt it. Plus as mentioned the other guests approached him about his foundation's work in the real world (which he shut right the hell down). Plus people in the control room know him, and though they are very deferential to his whims I think it would be much different if he was essentially another Ford running around in there. Ford just walks around as he pleases. Man in Black still follows the basic rules of a guest. He really does seem to be what he is portrayed as: An obsessed game player...the guy who must finish every quest and find every hidden level in the ultimate RPG.

That was cool and the dude's a nerd. He mentioned "easter eggs" and "black hats." That made me chuckle.

This is a fucking great show and I am riveted. I guess Jimmi ain't Ed Harris. Maybe he's the friend? I don't fucking know.

I got the impression Man in Black is a famous billionaire in the real world.

Definitely got a Memento vibe when I saw all those drawings. Of course, Jonathan Nolan came up with the story.

I love this show.

I'm betting that Arnold is still alive and is at the center of, or involved in, the maze. The whole park was designed to give the hosts a chance at becoming "real".
