You knew the reveal with the old woman was coming but they still managed to pull off making it a great scene. There was great surround sound activity once he got inside the cabin.

That was fantastic. The whole season has been great.

I too thought the second season was even better than the first, but I did think the final three episodes did drag and the ending was terrible. Think how the season started with that wildness in the bar and how here it ends with our two millennial heroes standing about awkwardly while Ash's address droned on and finally we were assured there'd be a third season.

That was a fun season finale.
Glad Pablo is back, although the way he was resurrected didn't really make sense. Same for the earlier scene when Ash got his hand back temporarily.
That celebration for Ash was pretty awful, especially his shitty speech.
The end could have worked as a series finale had they not tacked on that post credits scene with the Necromicon being discovered yet again.

I'm sure they intended a "works either way" sort of ending, with Lawless in the background, and the finding of the book planting seeds for another season. The scene with the speech had me wondering if the rug was going to be pulled out, and it wasn't "real". I'm not entirely sure when they shifted back in time.

All in all, still a very fun episode and a great season.

Fun season, however I think I might have liked season 1 better. I'll still tune in for season 3.

Season 2 started off like gangbusters but got bogged down towards the end. I appreciated all the callbacks to the original movie but didn't feel nearly as invested in the overall storyline.

Totally bummed by that lame ending. It was a solid season otherwise. The Ash speech was terrible and how they got Pablo back made no sense what so ever. And nothing about how they got back to the present. Maybe they should have extended the episode by 5-10 minutes.
I did like the scenes where he temporarily got his hand back, but as it turns out that was far too short.
Hopefully they can make up for it during the premiere of S3.

I totally missed the news about season two, and only found out about it because this site put up the Blu-ray review. I binged it on Starz and completely loved it! It felt the most like Evil Dead 3 out of any of the post-2 material (I love Army of Darkness but it's a very different movie from the first two, and season one of the show was good but had some episodes that were pointless). This season was on fire from the first episode and didn't let up till the end. I appreciated how madcap and relentless it was, with every two or so episodes being kind of a mini-arc. Really great stuff. I had no problems with the ending, the show has gotten so over the top that even the bizarre hero parade didn't feel too out of place.
Bring on season three!

Looks like we have to wait until February for S3.

That sucks. Halloween is the perfect time for it to air. Wonder why the hell it's not in the October schedule.

They really rub it in with the announcement encouraging us to “go back to school” with #AshvsEvilDead in February. Maybe they are moving the show to Costa Rica.

Looks like they repurposed the original season two finale setup for season three, where Ash was supposed to be revealed as Kelly's father (to everyone's surprise). When he went back in time to save Pablo, he had sex with a woman who would turn out to be Kelly's mom. The entire season was a setup for it, and Craig DiGregorio, the showrunner, was ordered to change it at the last minute. So he quit. It's why the season finale we saw was such a WTF ending.
Of course, he really fought for the autopsy room scene and I could have lived my entire life without seeing that, but I do think Kelly as Ash's daughter would have added a great dynamic to the show.

The final Season 2 scene was so odd that I kind of figured they were stuck in some illusion and it's be revealed at the beginning of Season 3.

After waiting around 20 years (I first saw Army of Darkness in the mid 90's, Evil Dead in early 2000's), it's like a gift that we basically get a new film every year.
