He probably watches it on Hulu that's why he didn't see the 2 week promo.
Yeah that was a huge reveal at the end. I did not expect this to be a direct sequel to the movie.
Geena Davis is also age accurate to how old Reagan would be in 2016.
That final scene with Reagan's Mom dressed in black coming out of the cab felt like a nod to Father Merrin's scene in the original movie.

For the record, it's a 13 episode order, not 10 as previously mentioned.

Fantastic episode this week. Loved the reveal at the end -- along with everything leading up to it. There were some genuinely creepy scenes - was a bit surprised for a network show to be honest. Is it just me or are they starting to pepper some subliminal images (shadows, etc.) or perhaps they have been along and I just haven't noticed. Similar to the director's cut version of the original movie.
I think they're doing a great job with the set pieces as well. The final segment showing Regan's mom exiting the cab was teased earlier in the episode when we briefly got a glimpse of the street light. I had a hunch we'd get the full view at some point.
Also, couldn't help notice Casey's quip "Just as I was getting ahead" when Marcus grabs Tomas who was kneeling on his knees in front of her.

I like that there's a connection to the original, but I don't know that I like this connection.
If you have to shoehorn Regan into this series, couldn't they have got Linda Blair back for the role, and maybe not made the main character Regan but a relative or something like that? I don't know, but I'm just not super hot on recasting the role. It's jarring.
I still love this show. It's the only new series I've started watching this fall aside from Westworld, and I honestly think, between the two, I have more fun watching this show.

It doesn't bother me. If they had cast Blair I doubt I would have bothered with the show, since it would have revealed that it was directly connected, and I don't know if I could have taken seriously at all. Also, Blair, -besides not being a name a network would invest in, - is pretty much retired from acting and just working her animal charity.

Just like I posted in the Pitch series thread, I need to suck it up and finish the pilot, as I suspect I will stick with this show if I just put a little effort into it.

I've been reading articles from various sites regarding Fox's upcoming schedule changes and "The Exorcist" isn't even mentioned. I'm assuming it's unofficially dead, dead, dead and I suppose they'll let it quietly finish out its run in December (which is what they're doing with "Pitch" evidently). I should probably just stop now but I really want to see where things go after last episode's reveal.

As long as it gets to air all 13 episodes and the story has an ending in the 13th episode I'll be happy. Was never sure how they could extend this past one season without being cheesy or redundant anyway.
The Fox winter schedule doesn't have any Friday changes until Jan 6, which would work out perfectly for the Exorcist finale to air on December 30, just taking the day after Thanksgiving off.

Supposedly the episode order for Exorcist is actually 10 after all. I heard that one of the actors on the show tweeted they were filming 10.
That would make the December 9th episode the season/series finale.

I wasn't expecting an honest to God (so to speak) Satanist cabal at the heart of the Catholic church. No wonder Chicago is ground zero for possession cases.

Not a definite, but MSN said it think's it's cancelled after the last episode. It's unfortunate, and they said the same thing, but I don't see how it could be a long running series anyway.

Shit, I knew episode 8 wasn't going to wrap up things this tidy but that ending...we've yet begun to defile ourselves.
Too bad there's a 2 week break before we get the final episodes.

That's twice now they made me say "Holy Shit!" during the last scene.
