I just watched episode 1 (Superpower Tech) with the family and OMG was it fun and funny. Maybe they just put their best stuff in the first episode, but that was a blast.

1st episode - The presentation seemed a bit dry to me. It has potential, since they do have good chemistry together, and that's when it was at it's best - when they were interacting. The nerve control over dinner was pretty fun.

I was a tad disappointed they still bleeped curse words.
It was fun to watch them again. I thought the lightning suit was pretty cool and dangerous.
eta: Episode 3, the word "batshit" is said...so guess they only bleep certain words.

Kari did an AMA on reddit yesterday and when asked what one thing she would change about the WRP she said "I think we need to lose the swearing. Even when it is bleeped I don't think it adds anything. I think we were all just so excited to have total freedom that we didn't know what to do with it."

I've watched the first 2 episodes so far.
The first episode (Superpowers) was an interesting mix of builds and re-enactments/info. Of the 6 superpowers covered, they only personally built/tested 3 of them. The other 3 were covered by info dumps, using a mix of stock footage, re-enactments, graphics, and interviews. I felt this combination of builds and info segments was fine, as 6 builds in one episode would've been too many, and it allowed them to cover some ideas that would've been too expensive to test themselves.
The second episode (jailbreaks) had only 1 actual build, and the other 5 segments were a mix of re-enactments, footage, and graphics. I think the El Chapo segment didn't even have a re-enactment in it, relying solely on existing footage about the jailbreak and graphics. It was still entertaining, but somewhat light on what people may expect from the show, mainly the builds/testing of the subject at hand.
I do agree that the show works best when the cast interacts. The best part of the first episode was probably the dinner segment with Kari and Tory.

The thing I would lose is when they play a video of whatever, they reach over and touch "play" on some cgi screen. Looks stupid and fake every time.
I'm not sure I like the format of taking six ideas, create a scoring system and ranks the six ideas. I understand they had to come up with something to be familiar with Mythbusters but didn't copy the Show.
My favorite episode was #9 on inventions way before their time. I thought it was interesting and informative. Who knew you could hear streaming music over the telephone back in the early 1900's.

I've only seen the first two episodes so far, and I think it has potential. I'm sure they're on a budget and can't do builds for everything, but I do wish I'd see more of the team together than separate. But still, it's a fun show that remains true to the spirit of Mythbusters in that it can make learning fun.

I finished the season yesterday. I liked it and I would tune in for a 2nd season, but it's nothing amazing. I was surprised at the lack of experiments and building they actually did. Alot of times it was just researching history. Also Tori can get a bit on my nerves with how pumped and hyped he gets over the smallest things. Moment that immediately jumps to mind is when he's cruising at like 10 mph down the street in his electric car and screaming WOOOOO!!! Chill out Tori. I can't believe that guy is 46, I wouldn't have guessed a day over 33.
Anyway I did like it overall and being a history buff I enjoyed learning all these new interesting facts and stories.
