I think a lot of the characters could go either way, but I suspect that the remaining thirteen episodes probably won't have the massive body count everyone is anticipating. A lot of characters like Theon, Davos, Tormund, and Jorah could go either way, but I think most of the 'borderline' characters will make it to the end.

As far as Littlefinger goes, does "When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die, there is no middle ground" apply to him? He's been playing the longest, most intricate game so far. Unless he ends up either on the Iron Throne, or the power behind it, will he survive?

I would actually like it more if they left some bad guys still alive or threats still out there. As if to say that the Game of Thrones is still and always being played. I honestly hope littlefinger stays alive. The cockroach of Westeros!

Now that Cersei is on the Iron Throne, I think she'll be the first one killed off in the last season. Not sure about the others though. Maybe Tyrion, Jon Snow, Dany, Arya, Sansa, Bran. Everyone else will be dead as Jon Snow the first time he died.

There are some characters/actors whose popularity gives them immunity for the run home but they could be taken out in the last 1 or 2 episodes

By then it will be too late for all of the "i won't continuing watching if they kill xxxxxx" people

I've actually been wondering whether another Stark will die before we're all done. I feel like either Sansa or Arya won't make it.

If one of them went down, it would seem on the surface like Arya would be the best bet. She seems like she's lost a lot of her humanity at this point and she's got some serious serial killer vibes going on with the special pie she baked.

However, I think Sansa might be the one to go if I had to choose, although they would need to make her death mean something pretty important or the Feminists bloggers will have a field day with the show. My reasoning is that Bran is now the three-eyed raven, Jon Snow has the Lord of Light on his side plus Ghost and Arya has the many-faced God on her side. Sansa has nothing on her side at this point except for Littlefinger, which isn't a good thing.

I'm leaning to all the remaining Starks surviving at this point though.

As rare as Valyrian steel is, I doubt they would waste it on the Iron Throne.

On this track, there is a theory that the White Walkers will win in the end, and that GRRM is making some sort of statement about people squabbling over money and political power while ignoring a looming threat.

Though I am not convinced that that would make a satisfying ending for a series that ran over seven long books published across thirty-plus years.

IF Dany is no longer capable of bearing children, then she is done. Can't establish a dynasty without children.

Cersei is the villain next season, so she's done for.

Jaime must die for Bran and to enable Tyrion to lead house Lannister.

Everybody else is a supporting character so they can die or live.

I think Dany could very well die - probably as a hero of some sort. And if they can somehow figure out that Jon is actually targaryen and not a Stark, he could marry Sansa and have kids that would be rightful heirs.
