Cersei is completely surrounded by enemies just about everywhere now.

This might be my favorite episode ever, so much craziness and all the stories and characters, good and bad, seem to be coming to a head and taking a giant step forward for the first time in a couple years. Epic moments for just about everyone involved.

Looks like Josh da Man got a lot right.

Okay, hope HBO is ready to commit some major $$ to the rest of this series. That set up demands a budget to deliver something epic. If anything happens (storms, shipwrecks, etc.), it wouldn't be due to "needed character development" as much as "budgetary constraints". That would suck.

I guess we'll never know where Margery's true alliance lay, just that it wasn't with Cersei.

Did it look to anyone else that Arya was getting an almost orgasmic joy from killing someone?

My guess about season seven: first half will be about taking down Cersei, second half will be about facing the Night King and his army. Since it will be split into two halves (again HBO?), I see that as plausible.

1. Davos kills Melisandre. She's brought back Jon, so she's no longer necessary. Also, with her ability to bring people back from the dead, she's too much of a deus ex machina to keep around.

2. Sansa pwns Littlefinger somehow. He's going to attempt to play her, and she'll get the upper hand somehow.

3. Revelations from the Tower of Joy. Probably via Bran. Coldhands/Benjen might deliver him to the Wall, or he might not. I figure he must do something important to bring him back after all of these years.

4. WaLder Frey will die by Arya's hand. She might even take out some other Freys, too.

5. Bloodbath in King's Landing. Cersei burns it down with Wildfire. The entire Faith Militant, Loras, Margaery, Mace Tyrell, Kevan Lannister, and Pycelle will all burn. Tommen will also die as a result of Cersei's actions. He wil wither burn with the others, commit suicide, or be killed by Robert Strong (The Mountain) when he attacks his mother over the deaths of Margaery And the High Sparrow.

6. No White Walkers, or a very brief scene at most. The Wall will stay up. If it does come down it will be the final shot of 7.7, the midseason finale next year.

7. Final shot of the episode will be Dani, Tyrion, Missandei, Grey Worm, Yara, Theon, (Varys?), the Unsullied, and the Dothraki sailing across the narrow sea as three dragons fly overhead.

how did you know?

Well it was recently announced that the 5 or 6 main cast members got a pay increase to 500k an episode for next season, so I assume they're committed to spending on the sets and effects and shit too.

Best season finale for this show yet?

This director needs to do the entire last season

I need to stop reading this thread until the show has aired. This is the second week in a row a DVDTalker has predicted with near-perfect accuracy.

I think it is a possibility that the red priests might actually meet up next season.

Dorne was sailing with Daenerys, for those wondering about Varys getting there so quickly.

so Varys leaves Tyrion at the end of last episode, visits Dorne to meet with Elia and Olenna, then travels back to board a boat to sail to Westeros?

edit NM. didnt realize Dorne was sailing with them as well.

I'm still stunned that they would taken out Queen Margaery. I am going to miss her games and manipulations. Was Jamie pissed that Cersei took the throne? Should the throne had fallen to him? I'm not sure how the succession works if there are no more children.

Nice of them to give us a moment to catch up with Sam, but I honestly can't see how they can make his storyline interesting. Melisandre got off too easy. I really wanted her to take off the necklace and show them her true age.

Love the finale although the final shot was pretty predictable. Seems like each season always ends with the dragons flying.

Ah.. so that's why they call it "King's Landing" :)

Well my guesses were almost all completely wrong but I wasn't at all disappointed with the episode. I thought it was really well done.

Will miss Margaery as well :(

Lyanna Mormont  I really hope she plays a huge role next season.

The music in this episode was perfect.

It was also interesting that Melisandre did not get her leitmotif.

I would call this a tie with the Season 1 finale, but it's easily the best finale since then.
