Re: BrainDead (CBS) -- From creators of The Good Wife -- S: Mary Elizabeth Winstead

I feel like I'm the only one watching this now. That's a shame because this is one of the, if not the best show on TV right now. The opening credits each week are inspired.

I'm watching it on a one week delay on Amazon Prime.

The last opening with Gunsmoke was awesome.

I'm watching and loving it.

I went back through Amazon Prime to re-watch all of the openings.

This week's opening credits might be the funniest thing I've seen on TV this year.

Yeah, the "previously-on" songs have been some of the best things ever aired on broadcast television.

Re: BrainDead (CBS) -- From creators of The Good Wife -- S: Mary Elizabeth Winstead

My friends and I are still a few episodes behind, but we've really started to get into it. I think the last episode we watched was when the main character has to get the bugs out. One of the funnier sex scenes I can recall.

Not surprised by the poor ratings. It's really an odd mix, but it has been surprisingly successful with it. I never would have thought the creators of Good Wife had this in them, but I also can see it as a way of shaking off their previous show.

Good ending - pretty much the only way they could've ended it if it's not going to more seasons.

What a great little mini-series that was! I'd buy the blu-ray, though I doubt it'll have one.

Great stuff.

A season 2 would be easy to do depending upon the outcome of the Nov election.

Re: BrainDead (CBS) -- From creators of The Good Wife -- S: Mary Elizabeth Winstead

I read The Kings (the EPs of the show) want to do a 4 season arc, but the ratings on CBS haven't been good. They do have a streaming deal with Amazon, but then again that may not help considering the ratings. I think this show was way too different for audiences on CBS. The Kings probably got this show made because of their success with The Good Wife and loyalty from the network to them.

Awesome awesome awesome. Very satisfying ending. Great way to tie up a story that might not come back.

I feel the exact same way! Alas, that extends to a Blu-ray release being unlikely. I know the distribution rights might not be the exact same, but The Good Wife never made it to Blu-ray, right?

Only a few episodes in, but think I'll stick with it just for those awesome recap songs.

Noooooooooooo!

http://www.ew.com/article/2016/10/18...othic-canceled

BrainDead and American Gothic will not be back for more. CBS has canceled the summer dramas after one season each, EW has confirmed.

Did anybody really think Braindead wold be renewed? Seemed like it got zero attention outside forums like this one.

Re: BrainDead (CBS) -- From creators of The Good Wife -- S: Mary Elizabeth Winstead

The show was too good for it's own good. They wrapped it up nicely, and probably knew this was it. There could have been many different places to go next season. But the finale did have resolution. Unlike Constantine, which got cancelled during a cliffhanger (damnit, that still bothers me).

At least Constantine made an appearance in another show- the brain bugs will only make an appearance in real life.

I have to admit it would have been awesome to see them portray the new President as infected by bugs.

Quirky. More would be a spoiler. Fine for binging.

I'm convinced the Brain Bugs are responsible for this Nov's election results.

Re: BrainDead (CBS) -- From creators of The Good Wife -- S: Mary Elizabeth Winstead

Was this a decidedly dark, in lighting, show on CBS? I'm watching it on Amazon Prime and wondering if very dark show. Maybe it's Amazon, maybe my tv?

I don't remember this being any lighter or darker than any other show. Mostly indoors, in normally lit office spaces.
