I can't recall where I read it but Bennett said he didn't like the direction the character was taking. I think he actually read TT and said he wanted the character to be the way Marv Wolfman wrote him. He did say the same thing about coming back if they asked but insists it has to be the bad ass version from the comics.

Just watched and pretty much agree with all the sentiments here.
That, and the show is getting sloppy in their editing. In the second-to-last episode, there's a scene where Arrow and Diggle are running in front of houses. It clips back and forth to another scene very quickly. In every clip but the fourth one, Arrow is in the back and Diggle in the front. Then suddenly they're switched. I mean, really?
But the funniest oops was when the kid at the doomsday computer dramatically presses a key on his keyboard that sends a power surge into Felicity's computer. The key he pushed? Not Enter. Backspace.

Ugh. That looked, not fun. The producers need to suck it up, admit they were wrong and get Manu Bennett back as Deathstroke.
