I saw a very brief preview for an episode of Banshee

It looks really cool

I have never seen an episode of this show before

Is it heavy on the action ?

what shows is it similar to ?

Not similar to anything. Just watch it. Tons of action, nudity

Over the top pulp action with lots of sex, grotesque violence and nudity. Not comparable to anything.

Don't fucking waste time asking anymore, just watch it. I'm surprised 4 years in this never caught your eye. It's one of the best on cable right now.

I didn't really get into the 1st ep. but by the 3rd I was hooked. Hopefully, the show ends well because so far it's just all over the place.

As for shows like it...none I can think of except for a couple where the main character assumes a fake identity throughout it's run but they're nothing like Banshee.

Strike Back is the only show I can think of that's in the ballpark.

I am almost through the pilot episode and yes i am semi hooked, liking it a lot

I can't believe i'm gonna say this, but the sex scenes do seem a bit unnecessary, but hey, they aint doing any harm

I do have one question

Banshee Origins, are you supposed to watch a whole series of Banshee origins after a Banshee series ? or watch one episode of origins after an episode of the regular series ?

Banshee origins is a web only series that is supposed to give backstory on the characters and their actions. Cinemax always promoted to watch it after the episode. On the BDs, they are an extra feature.

Banshee is Roadhouse meets Blazing Saddles

Ive 5 eps in and love this show !

I'd say they don't move the plot forward like in Game of Thrones, but they do reveal info about the characters, especially (early season 1 spoiler)

I enjoy the show for what it is, but I would say it never stops being just all over the place.

And i've also just started Strike back (watched the 6 ep UK series, and the first 2 eps of the american co production )

This rocks too so two great shows for me to catch up on

Is Strike Back now cancelled ?

Strike Back ended it's run last year but there is supposedly a movie sometime in the future.
