We'll I'm not going to play the guess "who was it" game. The writers are fully capable of pulling a Bobby Ewing, "shower scene" ploy.

And if anyone thinks that they'll find out on the season 7 premiere, think again. If the past and present are any indication, episode 1 will be some flashback to events from a different perspective that led up to the season 6 finale. There's a good chance that the 2nd episode will be another "one off" focusing on one character with the big reveal happening in the 3rd episode.

They basically took two scenes worth of story and stretched it out into 90 minutes. Why do people put up with this shit? I was forced to watch this. What's your excuse?

I've been reading reports of people tied to chairs at gun point and made to watch the show. This is the first confirmation of that happening I've read.

Maybe other methods were used?

Not a gun, but my ride wasn't leaving until the show was done. Should've walked home.

Is there supposed to be some significance in the name "Lucille"? Otherwise, what is the whole point of that? Who names a baseball bat? I'm hoping it's just an "Arrested Development" reference.

JDM is awesome.
Yea these thread never fail to entertain me. HOW anyone with even the remote knowledge of this show didn't expect it to end that way is beyond me.

And to all the so called people done with the show...no you are not. You will still watch and still bitch about it.

Sorry, devilshalo, I'm not a baseball fan so I'm not sure what the photo is supposed to tell me. Did that player name his bat Lucille?

I'm not a fan either, but that looks like Robert Redford, so I'm guessing it's from The Natural.

All that buildup for Negan and he wasn't menacing or physically imposing.

The cliffhanger I understand and actually makes sense. Lost routinely pulled this shit: deliberately frustrate the viewer so they keep thinking about the show/discussing the show/pretending like they're going to stop watching the show. Pretty much anything to keep the show on your mind, and hey, it works.

My main complaint with this episode? JDM needed to bulk up more. He just wasn't very physically imposing as Negan. Looked pretty skinny/puny actually.

Why has he lost so much weight? For a previous or future role?

He has cut at least 30 pounds from his normal weight.

Edit didn't see your second post.

The bat in "The Natural" is named "Wonderboy".

That is, in fact, Wonderboy from the Natural.

B.B.King's "Lucille" is probably the most famous inanimate object with a name, so I would guess that this is a homage to that.

Pretty sure only one dude from this thread said he was done with the show, and that was before the episode even aired. So...not sure why you guys are claiming that people are leaving.

I assume he is speaking generally. There was at least one "critic", that was posted in this thread, that said he was done with the show as well as lots of people across the internet and social media that are saying something similar. People would say they were leaving no matter what the producers did.

I thought it was just a feminized version of "Louisville" Slugger.

He asked "who names a bat?" Roy Hobbs did. Lots of people name things, guns, cars, boats.... not sure why it's questioned?

I would have liked this episode better if Negan had named his bat "Wonderboy".

Negan has a loooooooong reach, considering that slop lives in Cally.

Since there was little story to discuss (as others have pointed out, outside of RV U-turns, Carol's travails, & Negan's endless monologue), that might be a good parlor game. What other objects have been given names in popular culture?

Davy Crockett: Ole Betsy.

Predator commando guy: Painless.

Green Hornet: Black Beauty.

Rumpole: She Who Must Be Obeyed.

I could maybe understand a baseball player naming a bat, but why would Negan name a bat? Did he used to be a baseball player? Does he name all of his weapons?
