re: Love (Netflix) -- S: Gillian Jacobs, Paul Rust, C: Apatow, Rust, Arfin
I finished season 2 yesterday. I liked it, but I have some problems with it. I like the supporting characters (Bertie and Arya) better than the two leads and I don't think Mickey and Gus should be together. Mickey is very, very selfish and caused trouble for Gus both times he was getting a chance to work more as a writer. If I was dating someone that helped torpedo my writing career, I would be completely done with them. Mickey really needs to take time away from dating, because she is very self-destructive. Also, are most people on tv and movie sets as big of jerks as this show portrays them to be?

I thought S2 as ok. But as was mentioned, it could've been trimmed down.. probably 8 or 9 episodes max... it really didn't need 12 episodes.
Apatow and Rust seem to have a Woody Allen complex in their writing by having women interested in the male lead where they realistically shouldn't. Between the relationship with Mickey and with the actress, and the Wichita show-runner wanting to sleep with him, and the chick at the bar flirting with him - there's just way too much interest in Gus. He's geeky looking with a big schnoz and his personality is annoying. He's not a bad guy, but he's too awkward and people-pleasing and has no balls. There's really no reason for him to be boxing above his weight-class.
While I say that, I don't know why Gus puts up with Mickey's shit. As mentioned she's selfish, always defensive and her moods change at the drop of a hat.
Basically the only person in this show who's not annoying is Bertie - although she seems to be a bit of a pushover as well.
Randy's such a slug and moocher. I would hate to hang around anyone that lazy and with so little motivation for anything.
Apatow's daughter (Arya) needs some acting lessons. She has the same tone regardless of what the character is saying.
It's weird that I still find the show interesting enough to watch even though I basically hate all the characters.

Yea by the end of s2 I was so annoyed with Mickey's behavior it made me dislike the show or season at least a little. Which really left me bummed out at the end of the season , which I'm fairly sure isn't a good thing to leave people with.
And come on who doesn't have a crush on Bertie what a great character.

I didn't like the ending much. Overall it was a good season but not as good as the first.

I think that I'm 3 or 4 episodes in, but I had no real desire to go back and finish it. I've got a bunch of travel coming up for work soon, so I'll probably finish it in a hotel somewhere, but it's definitely not addictive TV.

Spoiler:
I enjoyed this season. I find all of the characters to be fairly interesting.
It was strange, though, in that the last episode felt pretty open. I.e. it didn't feel like a season finale.
I can't remember, but was this show already given the go ahead for another season?
I'm really surprised that Gus and Mickey are both actually in their mid 30s. I thought they were in their 20s.

Okay, then I did misunderstand. I could've sworn your original post referred to NYC.
I didn't remember your saying anything about passing off Universal for Atlanta, originally.

6 episodes into Season 1, and I really like it. I get how some characters are either unlikable or simply annoying, but I'm always engaged and want to see more.

Netflix has set March 9, 2018 as premiere date for the upcoming third season of the Judd Apatow comedy series, which will be its last.
Love, created by Apatow, Paul Rust and Lesley Arfin and starring Rust and Gillian Jacobs, was originally picked up with a two-season straight-to-series order. The show, from Apatow Productions and Legendary Television, was renewed for a third season in February.
“I am really excited about the third season of Love. I think it is our sweetest, funniest season and ends our story in a beautiful way,” said series co-creator and executive producer Apatow.
Will they? Won’t they? Should they? Season three continues to follow the trials and tribulations of Mickey (Jacobs) and Gus’s (Rust) romance.
“We couldn’t have hoped for better companions to go on this journey of Love with than the incomparable Judd Apatow, Gillian Jacobs, Paul Rust, Lesley Arfin and the rest of the fantastic cast and crew who have brought this special series to life. Over three seasons, viewers around the world have laughed, cringed, and cried with Mickey and Gus, and we are excited to share this concluding journey with their fans,” said Cindy Holland, Netflix VP of Original Series.

Yes, it's sad that it's the last season, but good that it's at least coming back.

Woo hoo!
If the story naturally is coming to a close I'm fine with it. Fingers crossed we get some sort of physical release in the future?

I think 3 is perfect for this show. Otherwise you run into the problem and You're the Worst is currently experiencing.

Gillian Jacobs is also been in a recent and extremely putrid Diet Coke commercial. It is so bad that I am thinking it is self parody.
