Yeah I'm gonna wait a bit to see some comments to determine if I'm even gonna bother. This show was golden for a few seasons and has been really bad for the last 2, especially this season.

Season 4b is NOT off to a good start. And watching History Channel online, the ads are thick and furious. I may wait and binge on Amazon after the season concludes, or just give up.

The second half of Season 4 has been boring so far. I can't believe how much time they've devoted to Ragnar's crippled son and his obsession with a slave. Plus, Ragnar is simply unlikable. And we have yet to see what's going on with Rolo, France or England. Zzzz.

Since Ivar the Boneless plays a major role in both Viking history and myth he isn't going anywhere anytime soon on the show although the portrayal of him as a lecherous psychopath is wearing thin. I'll stick with the show for however long Lagertha is around.

I'm digging the show's return and storyline so far. Yeah, focusing on his kids is for a reason, including Ivar who helped conquer England. Of course, based on that first episode after the hiatus, you would think they'd all but kill each other. If they keep along the Viking saga storyline, a couple of big things will happen, including another Blood Eagle!

I've caught up on the second half of the season and the last several episodes have been much better.

They are trimming down the cast, and going to war.

Also - the blood eagle returned!

I'm definitely still digging the show. They are really moving the storylines along as well. They could have drug some of this out for several seasons...and many shows do just that.

Was ready to leave this show for dead but holy shit the last few episodes have been near peak form. Seriously stunning how strong this thing has come back.

Glad they got rid of one of Ragnar's useless sons.

Season ended up with an impressive body count.

Looking forward to Rhys Meyers next season, his character sounds interesting,

Ended up sticking with it. The show really was desperate for new blood, the half season with Ragnar's sons was much better than the first half which felt bloated and directionless.

Pretty hardcore for a writer/series creator to kill off his two real-life daughters in back to back weeks (Torvi and Helga). And is anyone really going to miss Jheri Curl Lothbrok?

To be fair the show is based on historical figures and events, so it was somewhat inevitable.

Great news. In case anybody was wondering after reading that, Season 5 first half begins Nov. 29, with the second half in 2018.
