Is Jay Zoom?

Is the open door at Star Labs just a running joke now?

Zoom is the coolest most brutal villain on primetime TV with the dumbest name.

Based on the ending, I don't see how. And I really liked the episode, but that ending was so staged badly that any surprise that had went away when I saw where a particular character was standing.

OK. Wow

What an amazing episode. Yeah, the after-ending was poorly telegraphed but it didn't take away from what was a buttkickin' nailbiter.

Hope Killer Frost is kept around. And Cop Iris too.

Wow. Talk about filler and boring.

They have two episodes to use on Earth 2, and they give us this? So glad we had time for C plot with Iris having a newspaper crisis. And of course some thrilling conversations about Velocity syrum.

How did one of the better things from season 1 - Catlin - turn into such a boring character that has become less than 3 dimensional. I mean Cisco is going off about how much Ronnie and Caitlin mean to each other on two earths, only to have her hooking up with somebody that has the personality of a board a few episodes into a season. I wasn't big Ronnie and Caitlin fan, but could we at least have some character integrity?

Meanwhile, still no Patty.

Another fantastic episode. This show is so much fun.

Caitlin has always sucked. It's not a season 2 development.

I think that the Jay who came to Earth 1 might be a bad guy and the guy in the mask is the real Jay. His doppelgänger, after all, was named Hunter Zolomon.

So Zoom is from an "Earth 3"?

Another awesome episode. Earth 2 Caitlan is awesome.

I mean, that telegraphing was so bad that I just laughed when he stood there and got the hand in him.

Yeah, everyone was geeking out over the Earth-2 first episode, but once you got past the fan service, it really wasn't a good episode.

I did get the feeling this episode that the real Jay Garrick was stuck in Zoom's prison in that mask. Why Zoom would lock Jay up in an iron mask, I have no idea. I would flip out if Billy Batson was in that mask...he's the one character you would want to keep quiet if you're Zoom.

Caitlin had a lot of dialogue with the good Harrison Wells in season one. That has been cut out with the new Harry. It's definitely hurt her character development. I'm surprised they haven't tried putting Caitlin and Iris together as close friends.

I did like how they handled Killer Frost on Earth-2. I hope she isn't killed off.

I mean, if it was Billy, wouldn't he be trying to spell out Shazam?

I assume Zoom killed her, no way he lets what she did slide.

Nope, Zoom is Candyman.

One can do a lot with speed yet I do wonder how Killer Frost putting that much cold on him can be shrugged off.

With his Earth-1 counterpart being Hunter Zolomon and the masked man spelling out "Jay"... it does really point a finger at Jay not being what he seems to be.

Surprised there are a few people not liking this episode. Can't please everyone

So while Frost is bombarding Zoom with all that ice, why didn't Welles just shoot him in the head with that big gun he's been carrying around?

Odds are that was due to tv budget issues. Being a film would of had a free flying camera that crane shot all around the vortex and swooped in for effect etc. Flash has more or less a straight on CGI vortex they can comp actors into from limited angles and the just work with what they got

I think they could of wrote around the limitations a bit but oh well.

I do like that Zoom is such a pure bad ass level villain. We can bitch about other weak areas of writing on the show but they have done a good job with Zoom. Most shows tend to feel like the hero could beat the villain if they had a really pure show down. Where as this show has made it very clear that Flash has zero chance right now against Zoom on any level.

Or stick him with enough of that serum to briefly make him like a snail ...

I was hoping Cisco would find his power and break the cell ...

And yes, awful telegraphing of Zoom grabbing Jay.

Or drain him of his speed like Wells did to Flash.

Lots of missed opportunities here.

Zoom is a straight up badass.

From the pictures in last week's thread, I thought the man in the iron mask was black. I couldn't really tell from his hands in this episode though. If it is the real Jay, maybe the version that came to Earth-1 is a clone. Might explain his lack of powers and his decaying cells.

As far as why didn't do this or that... they had one and only one opportunity to scram and make it back to their own universe in time. Fleeing was the number one priority. Even iced down, Zoom still outclassed all of them combined, by far, many times over.

That's true Hokey. I forgot about that part.

I thought the man in the mask was black based on his hands. Of course the scene is dark though and hard to tell.
