DC's Legends of Tomorrow (S1E02) -- "Pilot Part 2" -- 1/28/16
THURSDAY, JANUARY 28
DC'S Legends of Tomorrow
"Pilot, Part 2" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, LSV) (HDTV)
STEIN VS. STEIN - Tipped off to Vandal Savage's (guest star Casper Crump) whereabouts, the team infiltrates a munitions deal with Professor Stein (Victor Garber) as their leader. Surrounded by some of the toughest criminals in the world, things quickly go from bad to worse when Savage realizes they don't belong there. A massive fight ensues and a piece of the Atom's (Brandon Routh) suit falls off and into the wrong hands, which could potentially cause disastrous consequences in the future. Stein realizes the best way to retrieve the missing piece is to contact a brilliant man - his younger self. He, Sara (Caity Lotz) and Jax (Franz Drameh) head off in search of young Martin Stein (guest star Graeme McComb), much to Rip's (Arthur Darvill) consternation. Meanwhile, Snart (Wentworth Miller) and Rory (Dominic Purcell) plan to steal a key element in defeating Savage but still unsure of his new teammates, Ray (Brandon Routh) demands to come along on the mission. Carter (guest star Falk Hentschel) helps Kendra (Ciara Renée) remember something vital. Glen Winter directed the episode written by Phil Klemmer & Marc Guggenheim and Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg (#102). Original airdate 1/28/2016.

Holy fuck that warehouse scene was awesome.
No wonder this show costs crazy amounts of money.
Sweet seeing Dahrk there.
Well, I guess that's the end of Hawkman.

I felt the episode was trying to serve too many things all at the same time. It was just busy. Still, I love seeing the ATOM in action.
Won't really miss Hawkman. I found him more than a little douchy.

I was very surprised they killed off Hawkman so quickly. I knew some of the cast would get killed in the process but I wasn't expecting it in the pilot.
I thought this episode played much better than the first hour of the pilot.
I finally have a good grasp on Heatwave as a character. He's this team's version of a criminal...Mr. T.

So does that mean that Hawkman is resurrected again in that year? Or since there's currently a hawkman in that year, the reincarnation doesn't take effect until 2016? Seems like the sort of Dinosaurs version of Mr. Science's "We;re gonna need another timmy" every time either hawkgirl or hawkman die... Just go into the future and pull out another one of them.

Loved that fight/shootout sequence in the Warehouse. I know some folks think this show is kind of cheesy, but I'm enjoying that this has a B-movie science fiction feel to it.
at tiny little Ray coming out and kicking ass.
Frankly, not going to miss Hawkman. Although the costume is cool, the character was kind of a douche and he had no chemistry with Hawkgirl even though they portrayed them as some kind of eternal lovers.

I wouldn't miss Hawkgirl either. Sadly I can see them finding a way to being back her "eternal love".
The big battle scenes would far better if they edited them a little better so you could actually see what each character is doing.
Best part of Part II is that Rip Hunter was left behind most of the episode. At least Miller an Purcell make the campiness funny at times. The actor playing Rip is going to be the death of this show.

Rip has certainly gotten on my nerves already.
This episode was fun. Lots of action and the effects were great for a TV show.
I'm not paying all that much attention to the time travel stuff. Just having fun with it.

Really enjoyed it. Loved when Stein pulled out the shrunken Atom suit for Roy to change into. I hope they let Ray and "The Rogues" get more screen time. Thought that was a great pairing. They interviewed Brandon and he said that him and Purcell get some character time.

Show is good so far. It is funny how a show/production company can do so well with casting certain people. Amell, Rickards, Barrowman on Arrow, Gustin, Martin, Cavanaugh on Flash, Benoist and Flockhart on Supergirl, and on this show, Garber, Miller, even Purcell in all his overacting glory, could also miss the boat so badly on the Hawkpeople, both of whom suck. They are even worse than Katie Cassidy on Arrow and that is saying something.

The Gray Canary!
The actor or what they are giving him?

The frenetic fight scenes remind me of playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance -- a mess of explosions and bodies zipping around and you have no idea what's going on. Please let Hawkdouche remain dead, just like his acting. And getting Canary out from under the dark thumb that is Arrow has been nothing but great for the character.

I have a feeling we'll be encountering an earlier (or later) Hawkman at some point. Which should be cool, unless he joins the team again.

Lets hope the other bird isn't too far away. Dropping the birds and adding John Constantine would be fantastic.

Funny that I hated Miller and Purcell on Flash, but really like them here; if only Miller got rid of that goofy way he is talking here it would be perfect.
I don't like Hawkman or Hawkgirl so I hope the former stays gone and that the latter leaves shortly. I never really liked Rory on Doctor Who and I still don't care for him here as Rip Hunter who seems like a nod/rip off of The Doctor anyhow.
Anyhow like the chemistry most of the team has with their interactions; definitely the highlight of this show and I'm actually enjoying this more than I expected. I just hope they end this with 1-3 seasons instead of drawing it out into another 10+ season show.

Stephen Amell is contracted to do Arrow for 7 seasons and I assume Grant Gustin is contracted for the same with The Flash. So I'm assuming that some of the actors here like Routh or Lotz are contracted for multiple seasons.
