That was hilarious. Good to see half of Jeffster on screen again.

I didn't think so, but man that would have been a helluva tie in, the younger Eve all grown up working in that freaky-deaky place.

Second page of thread and no one's mentioned Mulder's bathroom encounter. :)

Next Monday's episode is supposed to be far and away the best of the lot, so don't miss it. I've heard it's an instant classic. It written and directed by Darin Morgan.

Good story, good episode. Great news about the ratings.

Forgot to set my DVR so I'll need to catch this episode on demand or something. Good to hear that the premiere did well in the ratings.

The X-Files did well last night. Almost 10M viewers and 3.2. Won the timeslot.

Those are great numbers in this ratings environment, likely aided by much of the East Coast still being snowed under.

I hadn't really noticed it in the first episode but after reading about the complaints with Gillian Anderson's voice, it stuck out like a sore thumb to me in this episode. Her voice has gotten raspy over the years. It sounds like she's had surgery to remove nodules or something on her throat.

Uhhh yeah I said it on the last page about Gupta/Vik Sahay from Chuck ready to go down on him. ;)

Fox is already airing these out of order.

I guess this was supposed to be episode #5, and next week's was supposed to be ep. #2.

I read that FOX would be absolutely open to continuing the show for an 11th season. If it continues, I hope they give it 10-12 episodes next time and schedule it around the same time in 2017. This is a good show to put in place of Gotham while it takes a midseason break.

No, that's not necessarily the case. The production code sometimes mean that was the order the episodes were shot. In this case, this was the 5th episode filmed.

If you recall in the episode, Skinner said to Mulder and Scully in his office: "Welcome Back" and FWIW, next week's production code is XF-1003

A recurrence of Firefly Syndrome is disturbing.

I think you're confused about being an X-Files fan...anyhow, you may want to skip the rest of the episodes.

If this gets another season and more episodes, hopefully Carter can get Frank Spotnitz and Howard Gordon involved. Gordon maybe tougher to get if 24: Legacy gets the greenlight.

It was the 5th episode filmed, but Skinner said...."Welcome Back you two" which kind of emphasized this was their 1st case together back at the Bureau.

If that's what you're going by, next week's episode has Mulder still distraught over what happened in the first episode, which he didn't give a care about in this one.

Interesting:

http://www.vulture.com/2016/01/x-fil...episode-2.html

•"Founder's Mutation" is the second episode of the mini-series, but it was shot fifth in the production schedule. The show's science adviser, Anne Simon, tweeted that Chris Carter and "all agree [the] story flows better this way." There's precedent for The X-Files airing out of production order, an occasional practice that began in season four, often to accommodate actors' schedules. Still, I wonder if this might be a situation akin to Glen Morgan and James Wong's season four installment "Never Again," in which Scully has an implied one-night stand with a guy whose tattoo is driving him insane. That episode was originally supposed to air before the revelation of Scully's cancer in "Leonard Betts," but because of some post–Super Bowl scheduling, Carter and the Fox suits decided to air it after that plot twist. Scully's behavior was thus given a retroactive justification that Morgan and Wong (and Gillian Anderson, according to her own statements) didn't intend. Similar thing here?

Correct. Production order is order they were filmed. Even serialized shows may not film in order they intended to air. The Star Trek: TNG episode with death of Tasha was not the last one filmed with her, but was the last to air. Since syndication and dvd usually put episodes in production order, you see her die but she's back again like nothing happened in next episode.

Now I'm reading that the episode airing 4th was supposed to be second.

Who cares? This is The X-Files, not Mad Men.

Holy smokes...it got a 10 share Monday night in the 18-49 demo. Fox execs must be doing cartwheels. Chris Carter should be a very happy man today - NO WAY they're not bringing this back next year. Heck, they're probably talking series now with Duchovny and Anderson in recurring roles (maybe 6 to 10 episodes a season).

I can't see them doing that, the ratings wouldn't be this good if it was Doggett and Reyes. I think they'll do another one, probably 10-13 episodes total, with Mulder and Scully.
