Another awesome episode. (I could just copy and paste the same thing for every episode.)
A lot of tension in this one!

An episode so good it could almost be viewed as it's own movie. 2 episodes to go, but I think that this season of Fargo could be the highest quality season of any show ever. Hyperbole? Not really. It is flat out amazing.

I'm only 30 minutes into the episode, but that scene in the cabin was probably the funniest thing I've seen on TV this year.

Eight episodes in before i realized the one guy is the reservation Chief on Longmire.

Man. Man... MAN!
This is some top quality tv. I'm really sad that there's only two more episodes of this left.
Also, Alien looking symbols at the bar.

They have set the bar almost impossibly high for the final two episodes. But given what we have seen I trust they know that better than anyone so I have no doubt we are in for quite a ride over the next two weeks.
I am actually sad for people who watch TV but don't watch this show. I cannot say enough good about it. It boasts superb writing, casting, acting, and production. I really cannot think of a weak link where I thought "They could have done better with that."
One thing I did consider is that the always a little off-kilter characters and setting can help bury any acting deficiencies. A performance or dialog that might be off a bit just becomes part of the character's quirkiness, not that anything comes to mind however. I'm just trying to come up with SOMETHING to say that doesn't sound like I work for the show.

Good gawd what a great show. It's the one show I'm watching these days whose episodes I savor. I've mentioned Fargo to quite a few people, but they seem immediately uninterested. I wonder why that is--an assumption that it's some cheap knockoff of the film? They're missing out! This stuff is crazy awesome.

Nice little Fargo film references in the "Goin' crazy down there at the lake." and especially since it was followed up with the Looking for a women assumption that the store owner though Hanzee was after since that's what Buscemi's character was looking for when he said it.

That'd be my guess. I asked my sister-in-law if she was watching it and she said she didn't want it to take away from a great film. I assured her it doesn't, so hopefully she'll give it a go.Originally Posted by FunkDaddy J

Speaking of successes like this, what's next? Fargo, Bates Motel, and Hannibal have all been surprisingly good. Has anyone heard that anything else is in the pipeline?

Great to see the other end of the phone calls to "Headquarters"
and taking messages.
Just an awesome show.

Good stuff.
I have to say, I like the characters more this season.
I'm not a Kirsten Dunst fan, but she's great in this. And the Peggy character is hilarious.
Mike was the best character on the show, but after this episode Dodd is just as good. He's scary and comedic - sometimes at the same time. It's a tough thing to balance.
Maybe I'm mixing up timelines, but someone please explain something to me.
Hank gets knocked out by Hanzee, and Dodd and the other guy go to the basement for Peggy. Peggy gives them the mess-around and ties Dodd up. Then Hank comes to and drives out to wherever and meets up with Lou (who has Ed with him)? Why did Hank just leave Ed/Peggy's house? He didn't go inside to check up on Peggy? Is there a scene I'm missing?

I remember they addressed in this in a later scene with Hank saying that he should have gone in to check on Peggy. I think he just came to when Lou called him for help and raced there first.Originally Posted by Coral

I wondered the same thing when the earlier episode aired. I suppose this could be my one criticism of the writing to date, that Hank just up and leaving without checking on Peggy (who he had told to go inside the house and hide) was something the story needed to happen but didn't make a lot of sense and was just sort of waved away.Originally Posted by Coral

In any case, it's really weird to leave the scene after he comes to - regardless of getting a radio call. He was protective of Peggy and when he comes to on the porch he would've easily seen Dodd's car is still parked on the lawn - right beside his police car which he walks to. So the natural assumption is that Dodd is still there and Peggy could use some help. So he drives away?
And immediately afterwards I'm wondering what Hank and Lou were doing after Ed ran away. Ed ran to the house, talked to Peggy a bit and then threw Dodd in the trunk and they drove away - all before Hank/Lou got to the house. Did they stop for donuts? We know they didn't go to the hospital for Hanks concussion. A case of missing time due to the UFOs?

My guess is that they went back to the police station where there was standoff when Lou left.
I've long been a fan of Kirsten Dunst, but she had the rough stretch in the mid 00s. I'm glad to see her get a really juicy role that she's just nailing.

The one thing that I hadn't liked was Jeffrey Donovan's performance. Like many times in Burn Notice, it felt more like him trying too hard to be a character. That said, I thought he was pretty good in this episode. Originally Posted by Bill Needle

Hank definitely said it somewhere in last week's episode. It was pretty offhand.
