Knowing that Mr. Johnson (Wesley Snipes) can't be trusted, they know that they have a limited time before he might sabotage this mission. Final filmed episode of the show. NBC shut down production of this show after this episode wrapped. So don't expect any wrap up.
As said before, bummer that no one watched this. It probably would have done better on another night.

Not probably... definitely.
A real shame.
A real shame.

That photo is promising. Sad to see the show end.

At least we got to see a Player vs Pit Boss show down.. It's too bad this show never took off, it really started to hit it's stride in the later eps.
Maybe today's tv market is just not interested in the whole spec op like bad ass theme anymore. A lot of modern shows that have tried have flopped out in a season or less. I guess Superhero themed shows have taken over that role.
I wonder if The Unit came out now if it would bomb too? I can't picture it getting 4 seasons in today market like it did back in mid 2000s.

Well, maybe they should hire Winchester to expand his role in 24 and take over for Bauer. The guy was awesome in Strike Back; he needs a job before they film the Strike Back movie.

We thought first few episodes were fun, but just deleted the rest off the DVR. Not interested in something that will not get an ending. This show looked to have a lot going for it. Certainly more than the AARP procedurals they continue to push out on CBS.

I can say with no hesitation that even knowing the show was dropped, I enjoyed every episode I continued to watch. Not getting an ending ranked about a half point demerit on my 10-point grading system.
I'm OK with NBC cancelling it. I don't expect them to air shows that people aren't watching. But boy, it sure was a fun escapist show that I'll miss. This show was made for me. It's like the network TV version of Banshee or Strike Back, which was fine by me. I normally don't really get into these types of shows (I didn't watch, for instance, Human Target), but this one clicked. As for comic shows taking over for these type of action shows, I liked The Player more than the comic shows.
The Alex vs. Mr. Johnson fight scene? Thumbs up.

Finished the "Unofficial" series finale tonight.
That stinks that it ended incomplete, but it didn't stop me from enjoying the work the cast and crew put in. They really set up some potentially good storylines moving forward. The Alex-Mr. Johnson fight scene was fun. Mr. Johnson kicked his ass.
The interrogation scene with Cassandra was pretty awesome. It was probably some of Charity Wakefield's best work. Hopefully she lands another role that let's her keep the accent.
Oh well, another one bites the dust.

I really liked this series from the start but gave up around episode six after NBC de facto canceled it during production.
This show had no chance whatsoever on Thursdays to establish itself. It probably should have been paired with Blindspot, but it was obvious that NBC threw their entire Fall advertising push behind that show instead of The Player.
This is a show that USA should consider picking up for something different. It's far better than the awful Agent X running on TNT.

Too bad this wasn't a cable show instead of a network show. It probably could have lasted a couple years.
I guess there's no chance of Netflix or Hulu picking it up?
