I hope they have Patti be intelligent enough to figure out Barry's secret on her own. It'd be a nice character beat. I'd imagine she's smart enough to already suspect it.

With Barry telling everybody willy-nilly he's the Flash it's a secret that won't stay so for long.

Isn't The Flash/Barry's identity widely known in the future? I like the idea of people knowing. The secret identity stuff grows tiresome, especially with so many superheroes in media these days.

Barry never revealed his secret identity to the public. It was known in the far future of the 25th Century. Wally West immediately revealed his own identity to the public upon becoming Flash.
I would hope Patty doesn't figure out his identity before winter sweeps in February. As someone that grew up with superhero comic books, there are good reasons why you wouldn't tell your identity to everyone.

The mystery of Zoom is all well and good, but it's the mystery of the rubber duck that is obsessing me. Why is there a rubber duck in an evidence bag? And why does it have hair? Has the Penguin come to Central City with a nefarious plot to pigeon-hole the Scarlett Speedster?

You now have me intrigued.

Except for Batman. He should always be a secret.

Secret Identities are so Silver Age. I'm warming up to the idea of them being phased out. All the excuses of "Oh I forgot I have a dentist appointment" or "I have powers and I can't tell you cause it will put you in danger (but I will rescue you anyway)" are becoming old ideas.

Except for Batman, he only has Alfred...

let me rephrase. Tell your family and close friends. Cause it's stupid other wise.

I will be one of the few to say I didn't really care for the Zoom beatdown. I am not interested in seeing my heroes fail. Life is full of failures, I watch and read about Superheros to escape from life and live vicariously through people doing things no one could achieve. I understand I am in minority but I don't need the "drama" of people overcoming great odds to win. I just want to watch them win. A minor stumble here and there is fine but nothing like what happened on Tuesday. They made is so bad that there is literally no way to win without some form of deus ex machina and it won't be earned. Even if everyone gangs up on him, the ease in which Zoom beat everyone so far makes it impossible for me to believe any resolution. I much prefer when they show the bad guy getting hurt or beat but then escaping and trying again in another way.

Yep, it's clearly going to build to Zoom only being able to be taken down if both Flash's work together(once Jay gets his powers back).

The whole "secret identity" concept might have been workable in 1960s. In the age of leaked celebrity pictures, spy satellites, digital camera phones, and social media? You kind of have to fudge it a little bit. Clark Kent's glasses, even with a great performance, have always been a little far-fetched. You kind of just have to go with it.
The hero doesn't need to dress up in costume every scene with no secret identity and the writers can give supporting characters more face time with the lead actors. This is what happens when you have to cram in the kind of action storytelling and character development required by modern audiences in 40-some minutes each week.
Losing the secret identity helps in some areas, hurts in others.

Zoom catching Barry's lightning bolt and throwing it back at him was one of the most badass things I've ever seen on a television show. So awesome.
DC is truly doing itself (and us fans) a huge disservice by not making all of these shows a part of the DCU. They could easily lead with a Justice League movie, attach big names to Batman/Superman (I guess we can stick with who we have...ugh), and then do stand alone movies after that to ride the waves of Justice League without having a big name as the star.
The upcoming DC movies just give me no hope that the DCU is going to get any better than it has been so far.
