but that is just a given..
every show drags out their over all story arcs.. It's how you hook the fans, even if they can get a little peeved about it.
as for this ep.. I liked it.. Little bit of hot goat action, some zombie rar-rar and it filled in the backstory as to how Morgan became all no kill monk like. That's good enough for me.

ya did not miss anything.. Morgan was talking to the guy he had knocked out last ep.. talking a bit out the last time he had seen him and how "you wanted everything I had.. well here it is.. every bit"..
annnnd fade to the flashback where you came in with the fire and ranting morgan
annnnd fade to the flashback where you came in with the fire and ranting morgan
Maybe I misunderstood something, but it seemed like Drew Carey's brother was trying to make Morgan not want to kill himself and snap him out of his funk the entire episode and it took Morgan seeing people give him a can of food to snap him out of it? Or did I miss something?
Does it REALLY matter if Glenn is dead or not? His character was been pretty blend anyways. To me it seems like he got the guy over his body and you know for some strange reason he will make it out. But next week's episode doesn't seem like they will answer that question from the previews anyways. Didn't they pull that last year with a couple of characters that it took them 2-3 episodes to finally know what happened to them?

I assume that since he accidentally burned his place down, he then went out into the world and set up shop in a clearing to "Clear" zombies.
the two men he killed were not a part of the wolves from all indications. Just 2 dudes chasing after him, and his first instinct was to kill, no questions asked.
Those whole intro scenes were just to show how far he had descended into madness.

Thanks for correcting the episode title.
I thought it was a pretty solid backstory episode. Some of you may not have picked up on this, but I liked that this episode's flashback picked up shortly after "Clear" from season 3. That was also a Scott Gimple written episode. That was the first episode we saw Morgan since the Pilot and we didn't see his descent into madness after his encounter with Rick in that episode. Liked John Carroll Lynch as Eastman, but it was strange having him be Morgan's Miyagi-San martial arts peace loving ninja mentor.
But they played off each other really well.
Of course those expecting immediate resolution after last week hated it.

Not sure why it comes to a surprise to anyone that they'd "drag out the Glenn" thing, there was other seasons that jumped around stories and would take two weeks to get to some sort of resolution.
Because they tried to kill him when he had a camp fire once.....
You folks sure have short memory when it comes to this show.

This no kill thing is way to stupid but I liked the back story. The problem with the no kill policy is sometimes you have a choice like killing one person to save a hundred.
Anyway I'm glad we seen how Morgan got to his current state.

good stand-alone episode, it's just a shame that it was also a massive momentum killer.

Logic and the walking dead have no business being put into the same sentence. 5 seasons of this show should have taught you that by now. It has no business being on this show, much like having a no-kill ethos.

From a pragmatic, sitting behind a computer, not dealing with the apocalypse perspective, I agree with you.
The point was that Eastman killed his family's murderer in about the worst way possible and just lost his taste for it. To the point that when he was bitten, he was okay with it. He was at peace with it.
99% of the people on this show would kill anyone at the drop of the hat. Is it really so terrible to have one character who isn't as comfortable with it? And he's killed humans too already. He's not a pussy like Gabriel. Eastman could have easily killed Morgan for attacking him multiple times but he gave him a chance and worked through it. I think it's nice to have a few different perspectives.

This show has such a following they could do 30 mins of silence with Morgan reading a book, and people will still watch.
But I wonder how many times they can pull this before the "I'm here for zombie blood and guts" crowd begins to tune out.
It was a fine episode for TWD but it's still TWD and the bar is not that high.

Yup boring as ever but that wasn't hippie crap. The book they showed was by the man who created Aikido. He was a bad ass motherfucker who killed people and beat the shit out everyone that challenged him. He was into peace after doing all that.

Agree, real good episode for an awesome character. Love me some Morgan. It was fun watching Grasshopper and Master Po play off each other too.
