Getting to the wife story line waaay sooner then I thought they would. That seems like something you would save until much later into a season.

I also love how in this ep there is a person being held hostage going "I don't know where I am! They blindfold me and move me to different location every day".. Yet that person is talking on a cell phone someone else just called. How does that happen?!?

"Put this blindfold on hostage!! We are moving you again!! Oh here, don't forget your phone.".. I don't know, maybe I was busy on the cpu and missed the hostage fishing the phone out from a hiding space or something.. but still.

nice to see Snipes kicking some ass again too... and that pinstripe suit was rather pimp..

Badass seeing Snipes fighting more than once.

I like that they aren't pulling any bullshit with the wife storyline. It's like the reverse The Blacklist.

Re: The Player (S1E05) -- "House Rules" -- 10/22/15

NBC has moved in to cut the order to freshman drama The Player from 13 to 9 episodes. The series, from Sony Pictures TV, is currently filming Episode 9, so production will stop when it wraps. It will continue to air in its Thursday 10 PM slot.

NBC’s decision comes on the heels of The Player posting its first ratings uptick last night, rising a tenth in adults 18-49 from last week in Live+same day to a 0.8 in 18-49 (+4% in total viewers to 4.14 million). The Player, a male-skewing action drama starring Philip Winchester and Wesley Snipes, has had a tough time on Thursdays where it faced football on CBS as well as baseball. Thursday Night Football on CBS wraps next week and baseball season is heading into its finale, so the last episodes of The Player will not have sports competition. However, the show’s fate was sealed before it got to that stage.

The Player, from the producers of NBC’s The Blacklist, which serves as the newbie’s lead-in on Thursday, has been a solid DVR gainer, most recently hitting a percentage high of +64% for last week’s episode.

Well that sucks, but not surprising. The ratings haven't been good at all in it's timeslot.

Oh well, I'll enjoy the next 4 episodes still.

So The Player has been canceled. Too bad I thought this was a fun show. Charity Wakefield is easy on the eyes.

Yeah I liked her a lot here. No doubt she will get more work here in the States. There's always room for a hot blonde with an accent in American TV (unless she gets cast as an American)

The Player is better than 90% of the garbage NBC puts on its schedule. That slot was brutal, it never had a chance going up against football and the crowded Thursday schedule.

I wish they would try the show in a different time slot before axing it. The Player is fun and it was great watching Snipes kick ass in this episode.

Yeah, I don't get network suits trying male-oriented action shows against football. They should save shows like this for January if you're going to put them on Sunday, Monday or Thursday night.

Too bad. This show is way more enjoyable than Blindspot or Quantico. Hopefully Philip Winchester gets on another action show as I really enjoy his physicality and gun handling movements. He pulls it off better than Sullivan Stapleton in my opinion.

Wesley Snipes fight scene with Will Yun Lee was awesome and badass.

Also, this was a Strike Back reunion with Winchester and Lee since they were both on the final season.

Damn, such a shame that nobody watched this.
