Blindspot (S1E05) -- "Split the Law" -- 10/19/15

"SPLIT THE LAW"

10/19/2015 (10:00PM - 11:00PM) (Monday) : THE FBI AND CIA BUTT HEADS AFTER A HOSTAGE CRISIS GOES BAD. After a seemingly straightforward hostage situation turns out to have deeper international implications, the CIA and FBI find themselves racing against each other to apprehend the same criminal with a dark history. Carter (guest star Michael Gaston) expresses concern about Jane's (Jaimie Alexander) trustworthiness, causing friction with Mayfair (Marianne Jean-Baptiste) and testing Reade's (Rob Brown) loyalty to the team. Meeting Weller's (Sullivan Stapleton) family proves overwhelming for Jane as she grapples with her identity. Also starring Audrey Esparza, Ashley Johnson and Ukweli Roach also star. Guest starring Jordana Spiro, Logan Schuyler Smith and Jay O. Sanders. TV-14 V

Much better than last week.

Loved that crazy shootout in the cemetery. I was silently hoping that Stapleton would yell out "Fuck!" when the bullets started flying as an ode to Damien Scott. There was some cool twists in this one, especially in that opening robbery.

Granted, a dirty bomb storyline is nothing new, but I thought the action was fun. I also liked seeing the FBI butt heads with this Black Ops CIA unit.

So now the FBI has a mole since Zapata accepted Carter's money (assuming it's to pay off her gambling debts)

Nice casting getting Jay O. Sanders to play Weller's Dad.

Agree. I was able to put up with it until everything after the cemetery shootout.

I'm surprised people are already bailing on this. The ensemble continues to build, and the writers have already established they are quick to move plots along. So I would expect the cliche mole/double agent storyline to not drag out an entire season.

My biggest issue is how sodden Jane and Weller come off. I don't get much chemistry from them, but that's okay if we skip any romance angle. They both just need to loosen up a bit.

My gf is still enjoying it a bit but I'm basically tuned out at this point. None of the story lines are at all interesting to me.

I am still watching but the main agent is still hard to take. Almost seems like he is doing his batman impersonation. To aggressive even in normal speaking moments. I am giving him the benefit of the doubt as most folks couldn't stand Anna Torv in Fringe at first.
