Woo hoo, more crazy Carrie off her meds bawling in the dark. I like how her bf just thought she was just going to start taking them again.
So much for Saul's marriage I guess.
Hopefully the end leads to something interesting.

Probably the worst episode of the entire series, even worse than the one where they had to find Dana when she ran away. It was just excruciating to watch. Also, why in the hell have the subplot for Quinn to kill Carrie when there isn't a snowballs chance in hell of him even considering it.
Guess this was the Emmy-bait bat shit crazy Carrie episode. Snore.

Yeah, this reminds me why I didn't want to bother with this show any more.
Unless you right yourself, show, you're the first to go in two weeks when I need to narrow down my Sunday nights already.

The Emmy votes love her, but I think she over acts everything and the character is intensely dislikable. Have we actually seen her do anything smart or insightful since Season 1? Not sure we have.
Very close to just giving up but will continue for a bit.

I love that the only way she can solve things is to go off her meds. And of course she does it.
Is she a plant? There's a lot of questions, but its the same shit, I just watch it so that I can see how bad it is. Hate watching sort of. I don't hate it like I hated the final seasons of True Blood - but it's pretty laughable.
I love how the CIA couldn't track the journalist - how tough was that. They are pretty bad..
And as far as Saul sleeping with Miranda - that's the most laughable.
Obvioulsy carrie wasn't going to Kill Quinn, and Quinn wasn't going to kill carrie.

I didn't hate it as much as others, but it was not great. I wanted Carrie to see Quinn through her scope and be like, "Oh no..." But I'm glad he wore a vest and snuck up behind her. I hope they're going somewhere good with all this, because there has to be more to the story than Saul hates Carrie now and wants her dead.

I know Danes is signed up for 7 seasons... but they really need to consider wrapping this up. I don't know what it is about Showtime shows, but they really don't have longevity.

Quinn is a total ninja. Wears dark clothing, a hoodie to cover his head and walks softly.
So it makes perfect sense that he would drive his car right up to the house... and with the headlights on to boot.

It was pretty hilarious when Carrie was describing how when she's off her med's she's able to solve things so easily, it just made me realize how she's this shitty super hero, and then of course I find out that the episode is called "Super Powers", it's like the writers are just playing a joke on all of us now.
Maybe we are just spoiled with too many well written shows nowadays, but geez, this show (not that it's alone) has some terrible writers.
edit: Did a search about body armor and .308 rounds (I'm not expert but that's what they looked like to me), and found this:

I do not mind super ruthless Saul much, though him sleeping with Otto was eye rolling. But the crap with Carrie was just excruciating and melodramatic and ludicrous.

Spot on, though I will add that any reference to her child should be immediately Chuck Cunninghamed since the only purpose it serves is to provide scenes of Carrie pawning it off on others to raise. Then Carrie should go off in search of it while a vastly improved show continues on without her.
Of course, Danes thought we were all enthralled by her "romance" too.
I often think how awesome this should could have been in both season 1 and season 2 if they had the balls to actually have him set off the bomb in the panic room.

He also has some of the worlds greatest body armor.

A rifle would go through that vest like it wasn't even there. This is amazingly poor research/writing, and ruined what was already a terrible episode.

I liked the episode and have enjoyed the season so far. Looks like I'll stay away from Homeland threads here as everyone seems to hate the season so far.
The way I always enjoyed Homeland was taking the show with a huge grain of salt because the show has always been a stretch with contrived plot points.

Re: Homeland (S5E03) - "Super Powers" - 10/18/15
Question about last week's episode. Do we know for sure it was Saul who left Carrie's name in the box to be Quinn's next hit? I couldn't quite make it out, the wife said it was Saul but later said she wasn't sure, a co-worker says it was Saul but he's full of crap half the time. You guy's know for sure?
If it was Saul... Did Saul really think Quinn would kill Carrie? If so, why was her name left? They seem to think she's working with the reporter, were they wanting to set her up to take the fall for all of that (which would be easier to do if she's dead)? If Saul didn't really think Quinn would kill Carrier then why put her name in the box? Was it just some kind of ploy to find her?

Just like how silencers make every gun whisper quiet. Like the poster above mentioned the part that really got me was Quinn rolling up to the secluded house with his headlights blazing. He even managed to slam the car door when he got out.

I think the title of this episode "super powers" is actually about Quinn's apparent super power ability to take a hit from a rifle and immediately get up. Also, Carrie's super power of figuring shit out while off her meds...
