Pretty decent episode. Surprised that they got Simmons back so soon, and didn't drag it out.

Fitz continues to be a badass.

I am curious how she managed to survive for months on that alien world. Is it an issue of time moving differently there (ala Interstellar or Quor'toth)? Was she imprisoned by someone? And it also seems really fortunate that she was near enough to the portal to see the flare.

Nice fakeout with the torture of the kid. You're watching, thinking, Yeah! He's fighting back!, but the whole thing turned out to be a set-up to bring a von Strucker into the Hydra fold.

Wow, no comments? This was a great episode! During the entire rescue scene, our hearts were in our throats.

What was the point of the rescue when we found out nothing about the alternate planet other than it's dusty and blue.

I enjoyed it too, and as an audio engineer I was mostly fascinated with the idea of the entire room being a speaker/amplifier.

I'm sure we will get flashbacks once Simmons recalls her experience.

The final scene with her kind of gives a clue; she is startled awake and is immediately brandishing a knife. It's pretty clear that there was someone or someTHING threatening her survival there. Like Flatlander says, I'm sure we'll get flashback episodes because we can see she's traumatized by her stay.

Is Fitz back to season 1 Fitz now? Did they explain how he recovered?

The brain injury? They kind of just dropped it.

I think I heard a little exposition. Coulson previously said that he'll get better over time. And Fitz did still stutter a few times in this episode.

Are you? I was thinking, "Wow, that kid is a douche bag, I don't really give a shit what happens to him."

So Fitz has saved Jemma from almost certain death twice now. If she still has the "it's not you, it's me" conversation it will be kind of hilarious.

Nice that Fitz finally got to do one better than when Ward jumped out of the plane after her.

Awesome episode. Fitz has been my favorite character from the start.

What was the point of the flashback to 1800something.

The rock portal thing was apparently destroyed so why even show that it has been around so long
when they broke it with relative ease.

This was a solid episode. May's father should be a recurring character.

Key word here is "apparently". This storyline is far from over.

I can't imagine they were dumb enough to leave the shards in that pit at the abandoned castle.

Seemed to turn to large grain sand when it blew up. But yeah, anything that can basically turn from solid to liquid can likely reform in not completely destroyed or dispersed. Cage was wrong to accept the thing had been destroyed. We'll likely get some flashback to her time there and another episode where they cross over to the same planet.

Would love to see Lo Pan stick around. He could basically replace Daisy's dad as the character that comes as goes as the character needs some family time.

James Hong sounds so similar to Mulan's dad that I thought it was a Mulan reunion for a minute. (Ming-Na Wen voiced Mulan, if you didn't know. Now you can't unhear it. You're welcome.)

James Hong makes everything better. David Lo-Pan for the win!

While watching this episode I remembered a 50 year old Perry Mason episode I saw over the summer that Hong was in. His Hollywood career has lasted a long long time. Lucky guy.

I think part of the flashback was to explain that the portal could be open at that place specifically and that apparently no one had returned from it (until Fitz and Emma did it)

Yeah. He could open a restaurant. Shouldn't take more than 5, 10 minutes for S.H.I.E.L.D. to get a table.
