Yep. You can no longer buy the episode on Vudu (but it's still listed, just not for sale) or iTunes. But it's accessible in my library which is the important part.

ALOT of "skewering" in this episode.
Considering how it attacked Fox, made me wonder if this was the first Disney episode...

From all the tweets from Upstate (the 31 year old mayor of Ithica is a lifelong fan) it seems they skewered a good chunk of their remaining viewers One of them also made a Poochie reference.
it was kind of a choppy episode but it had much funnier gags than usual.

Martin Prince might be retired as a character now that his voice actor Russi Taylor has passed away.

Martin was a key supporting character during the show's golden era. His appearances were always amusing. I guess any show that lasts as long as The Simpsons faces these problems.

I didn't watch the rerun last night. Did they have an in memorium card for Taylor?

Martin was always a fun supporting classroom character. Actually he was one of my favorite of the classroom characters really when I think about it. He’s one of the more memorable ones really. I’ll be sad to see him retired if that happens but I understand why they’d do it to honor the voice actress. RIP Russi Taylor.
It is unfortunate, but after thirty plus years on the air the cast is naturally getting older. Hopefully when any of the main cast pass away the show will end.

Sherri and Terri really never do much anyways. They’ve always been bit parts. Same for Uter, he’s basically good for a fat joke, but I think they’ve stopped doing those very often. Martin wasn’t a main character, but he played a decent supporting role in a number of episodes.

When we were at the school science fair setting up my first grader's display, she looked across the room and saw a kid with geodes.
She said, "My geode must be acknowledged."
Could've cried I was so proud.

I wonder what happens when one of the major voice actors passes away. I really don't like permanently retiring characters, which has definitely blunted the show's creativity over the years.

The Simpsons intro redone for "The Flanderseses". Ned still drives a Geo.

Well Marci Wallace(Edna Krabappel) passed away in 2013. I think the creators did the right thing by retiring her character.

Morrissey is having an absolute meltdown about the way he was parodied in this week's episode. I haven't watched The Simpsons regularly in more than ten years now, but I made sure to watch this one.

The number of people that would have made a direct association would have been a lot lower if he would have just shut up.

Re: The Simpsons (FOX) -- Season 27 and beyond thread
Wasn’t sure where else to post about this beyond the general Disney+ thread. On Disney+ Day there was a new Simpsons short entitled: The Simpsons in Plusaversary. Definitely felt like shilling, but the writers poked fun at that.
Overall it was a cute little mashup of Disney/Marvel/Star Wars characters interacting with characters from The Simpsons. Almost made me wish it was something a tad longer than a short like a full on episode or something.

On a side note, these last two episodes... wtf
They do a two parter that's basically just a hybrid of Fargo/Coen Brothers/tv crime drama with many meeting gruesome ends with Itchy and Scratchy levels of violence.
They're actually fairly strong episodes but just came out of nowhere

I have really enjoyed this season so far. I've laughed with every episode. The one about old people getting scammed is very good, I kind of think everyone should watch it and show their older relatives.

Just caught up on the 2022 episodes this weekend. Thought it was very weird that they had an episode with Marge and Homer stranded in the woods with their lives actually being in danger, and then the next week had an episode with Bart stranded, struggling, and in danger.

It's weird when you open a thread that's been dormant for months and see you're the last one who posted in it.
But anyways, if you had given up on The Simpsons, you might want to come back. This new season has been pretty, pretty good.
The latest Treehouse of Horror is excellent, and the previous episode was a full-episode parody of IT that was excellent.
I'll just say Episode 3 titled Lisa the Boy Scout is a must watch for Simpsons critics. Episode 4 is a too-late take down of Ellen, but still a very good show.
The first two episodes of the season did not set the world on fire, but were good episodes considering that the Simpsons scale is always weighted down with about 200 classics.
