Shark Tank is teaching a whole generation of kids it's OK to cry at a business meeting.

She looked rather masculine to me.

I don't know about masculine, but she has a strangely proportioned face. Seemed like a nice gal, though.

I hated that Van Robotics educational robot. I would be embarrassed to pitch that piece of junk.

I call those things a “10 minute” toy. Your kid will open it up on Christmas day and play with it for 10 minutes. And then it will sit at the bottom of the toy box for years until it gets tossed.

and at $599 - $999 per robot

Now if she wanted to sell the educational at-home software and just have it be enjoyed on a regular computer, that’s more logical.

The price kind of shocked me. There are plenty of "educational" robots in the $100 range.

WTF was that crochet clothes thing? OMG most bizarre product I've seen.

Re: Shark Tank (ABC) -- Series Thread Part III

The Tough Apparel (ties) caught my interest. I’m always paranoid about messing up my tie with food or snagging it.

I’ve never dry cleaned my ties as I’ve heard it isn’t the best (not worth it, doesn’t do much for ties). And of course I’ve never machine washed it.

I think they mentioned $40-$50 a tie, which Mark was shocked by. I’ve seen other branded ties priced that high, but my tie limit is $20 sale at Express. But if these Tough Ties offer value through durability and machine wash capability, I may pay a premium for them.

I’ll have to checkout the website.

Maybe Cuban buys his ties in bulk. Like he would know. Ties are expensive.

The crochet thing was totally bizarre.

That robot wasn't nearly as cool as the 2XL that played 8-track tapes I had when I was a kid. And I think that thing was under $50 (at the time).

$40-50 for a tie you can wash and will hold up to some abuse is fair. I've seen plenty of dry clean only ties for that much or more
basic not high end branded ones at kohls are $30-40 regular price

When's the last time they had a normal food business? It seems like lately everything is vegan, gluten-free, or some other health nut gimmick.

The way that guy ignored Lori I was surprised she didn't tear him a new one.

High margins. Because they can slap a label like "gluten free" or "vegan" on it and charge twice as much.

Same way they can describe a flashlight as "tactical" and some redneck idiot will pay $50 for it.

You have to remember what demographic is watching this show on ABC. That audience is your primary target for many of the successful food items pitched on the show.

The chocolate milk guys? I hated the name of the product the most out of that pitch.

Slate

...for chocolate milk? When I think of “slate”, I think of a thin rock.

Shark Tank is shooting season 12 in a "Bubble" in Las Vegas.

The story has more details how they're doing it.

You obviously didn't read the story, they shoot the season in 2 separate 2 week spans over a few months. They crank out this kind of show so much faster than most reality shows.

Keeping the show in 1 central location (Vegas) will lessen the risk of any potential outbreak Talent and crew will stay quarantined in 1 central hotel most likely. Along with that the crew and talent being tested constantly.

As I sit here watching the Christmas seasonal product episode, Kevin keeps saying he doesn’t sell “seasonal products”. Uhm….

I want to say TBS or some other channel has come up with a knock-off version of Shark Tank.
