I thought it would have made more sense if she died from combining pills and alcohol. Jumping off a roof was more dramatic, but did not seem as believable to me. Plus they kept setting it up like she was going to overdose.

She's bi-polar and the other production person emptied her medicine capsules and refilled them with something (probably sugar). Her sister hinted at what could happen when she was talking about the highs were really high but it could switch up in a heartbeat if she wasn't taking her meds. And this is so true... if you've ever had close dealings with someone who suffers from this, you know what I'm talking about. A bi-polar (manic-depressive) person could very easily do something like this if she wasn't medicated and was in a depressive state.

Actually I think that sex scene was with the wife of the utility guy - who Chet got to turn the power on at Adams wine villa.
The guy invested in Adams wine business and part of the deal was Adam had to have sex with his wife.
The scene had Rachel opening the door and seeing the husband and Chet watching Adam screwing the wife.

There was two masturbation scenes - the first one at the start of the episode had Rachel watching a porn scene.
The second masturbation scene near the end of the episode - after the incident with her ex at Faith farm - was her watching that video of her/her-ex at the beach. Yes, that was the same video the ex-roommate mass emailed to everyone on the staff.

Okay, thanks. I didn't get that good of a look at what must have been the first one, so I must have thought it was the same content.

re: UnREAL (Lifetime) - Series Thread - S: Shiri Appleby, Constance Zimmer

Finale aired this past Monday.

Not a bad 1st season. Became a guilty pleasure. I think Constance Zimmer (Quinn) really stole the show. She had a really unique toxic relationship with Rachel. I liked the ending when they told each other they loved each other and Quinn said..."I love you too....weirdo "

The live wedding blowing up was pretty funny. I think there is a lot of truth to this show for showing how phony these dating shows are.

I read the Producers are toying with the idea for season 2 with Everlasting having a female looking for love and men being in the house instead. That might be a good way to mix things up.

This was a good summer show. I'll definitely be back next year. The season being only 10 episodes was perfect IMO.

I enjoyed the show, kind of, it was a lot darker then I thought it would be. Zimmer was great in this, but I could not make up my mind about Rachel.

Glad it was renewed, and will probably tune into season 2. 10 eps was the perfect amount.

I thought the finale did a good job of teeing up the idea of ANNA as the bachelorette on Everlasting for season 2 - her speech walking away from the wedding seemed to be there for that reason. I liked this season a lot, some plots worked better than others but I have faith season 2 will be even better. Loved Zimmer and have always liked Appleby - they sure made her look like shit a lot of this season. I hated Bierko at the beginning but his character was pretty damn entertaining.

I liked the show, but wasn't as fond of the last episode. It felt a little rushed to me, but more importantly, I wanted to see more depth and nuance from some of the characters, especially Adam Cromwell.

I'll still watch again next Season.

Binge watched this with my wife, who enjoyed it more than I did. I liked it but thought it was a bit disappointing towards the end. I didn't really think Adam was that bad of a guy. Interested to see what happens with Rachel now that her ex told her mother she needs help.

I'll probably watch the second season, which will focus on a Bachelorette in a tropical location apparently.

re: UnREAL (Lifetime) - Series Thread - S: Shiri Appleby, Constance Zimmer

Lifetime is investing in more UnREAL.

The cabler has renewed the buzzy drama for season three ahead of its June 6th season two premiere, it was announced Thursday.

Like season one and season two, season three will consist of 10 episodes. Season three of the drama, which centers on a Bachelor-like reality dating show called Everlasting, will premiere next year.

"UnREAL is that rare series that redefines a network. It not only reflects culture, but pushes culture forward by creating television’s first female antihero," Lifetime exec vp and head of programming Liz Gateley said. "The overwhelming fan and critical reaction set the bar incredibly high, but the writers and executive producing team, coupled with the outstanding performances by Shiri Appleby and Constance Zimmer, have taken the second season to even greater creative heights. We are thrilled about the new ground we will break with season three while continuing our work with the incredible A+E Studios as we together build Lifetime’s Fempire.”

UnREAL has been a major part of Lifetime's rebranding since it premiered last summer. In addition to drawing new eyes to the network, the series has also become an awards contender, winning a Peabody award, a Critics Choice award for Zimmer and being named one of AFI's top TV programs of 2015.

re: UnREAL (Lifetime) - Series Thread - S: Shiri Appleby, Constance Zimmer

Honored by the American Film Institute as a Television Program of the Year and recently nominated for three Critics' Choice Awards, with Constance Zimmer winning for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, Lifetime's critically acclaimed UnREAL continues to push the limits with its highly anticipated season two return. Co-created by Marti Noxon and Shapiro, UnREAL gives a fictitious behind-the-scenes glimpse into the chaos surrounding the production of a dating competition program, Everlasting. Having already tackled relevant matters of gender politics, the series, starring Shiri Appleby and Constance Zimmer as producers Rachel Goldberg and Quinn King, will stir up the drama in season two when Everlasting casts its first-ever African American suitor. Returning as series regulars are Craig Bierko as Everlasting's creator, Chet, who is on a quest to reclaim his full power on set; Josh Kelly as Jeremy, Everlasting's director of photography; and Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman as Jay, a field producer whose ambitions run far beyond the show. Everlasting's new suitor Darius Hill, an All-American football star, will be played by B.J. Britt.
10 episode 2nd season premieres 6/6/16. Renewed for a 3rd.

Watched the season 2 premiere this morning. Good start and this show works well as a summer show. It's good that it's got renewed for season 3. I think a good lifespan for this show would be 5 seasons, we will see what happens.

Re: UnREAL (Lifetime) - Series Thread - S: Shiri Appleby, Constance Zimmer

Just caught the premiere after being out of town for 3 weeks.

Freaking awesome. Loved every second of it. It was cool seeing Rachel as the boss and showing some flashes of her mentor Quinn.

I when the whole idea for the new season came out of a drunken party. And then they got into a huge argument about his race.

I liked how Chet stealing Darius forced Quinn to take over. I think Constance Zimmer was born to play Quinn. She's so good as her.

Very cutthroat and trashy show.

Episode 2: Quinn: "I can shoot ping pong balls out of my vagina, but nobody wants to see that."

Re: UnREAL (Lifetime) - Series Thread - S: Shiri Appleby, Constance Zimmer

My only disappointment this season was how they there Chet into the mix. I really wanted to see Quinn and Rachel working together for awhile. They should have saved his entrance for later in the season. And it still feels rather ridiculous how he was just able to insert himself into the show. And why would the network bring in a new show runner and still keep all the other show runners around? That doesn't really make sense.

Otherwise, I am enjoying the new characters this season.

Chet is the most off-key element in the current storyline. I guess since Quinn and Rachel are so edgy that he needs to be even "bigger" to serve as the current villain. I don't really buy that a network would ever say yes to such a "bro-tastic" reboot of a female-skewing show (on primetime television) or that Chet would think (even in his "altered" state) they would ever approve it.

There's something really wrong with the TWC ondemand for this. Ep. 1 showed up normally, but ep. 2 still hasn't. Ep. 3 just appeared today though.

Okay, so I now finished the first 3 episodes.

Did Quinn really hire an actress to play that foster mother of Brandy? I heard her say "Central casting" when someone asked how they found her? That was fucked up.

Her attack on Darius was hilarious though.

I liked how Quinn got screwed over even though she orchestrated that whole thing and found out Rachel was behind the new showrunner.

My DVR cut off at the 1:02 mark when Rachel was being called back to set after making out with the new showrunner. Anything happen after that?

This happened with every episode so far, -they're about two minutes over (and I forget to compensate). As I recall, Chet stole his baby from the mother and Rachel walked into Darius's room and found him injured and in pain (which he wants to hide).

Just saw episode 4.

It was great. Loved Quinn essentially breaking up with Rachel and saying that she had to get rid of the garbage people in her life.

And Shiri Appleby looks terrific for someone who just had a baby a few months before they started filming. Season 2 began filming in March and she had her baby in December. She must have worked out like a maniac to get her body back.

I do think that Darius is a lot less likable than last season's suitor.

Wow, episode 5 was crazy. Jeremy assaulting Rachel at the end was hard to watch. I almost thought he was going to rape her. Surprised that Chet stepped in.

And poor Ruby. That whole set up with bringing her Dad in to see her having sex with Darius was pure evil by Quinn. Loved Quinn persuading Rachel to go with it.

I thought it was going to be the old, reliable (and Shonda Rhimes favorite) "I hate you, -let's have sex!" scene, and then it took an unexpected turn.

I have never liked the Jeremy character, but didn't he start out the show as kind of a nice guy? The writers have really done a 180 on him. But I guess they are saying that is the toxic environment of the work they do, it turns them into terrible people.

I haven't seen this past week's episode yet... but I really haven't been into this season like I was last year.
