I know that Levi suffered a very nasty fall attempting some freerunning trick. If I remember correctly, he shattered his ankle or broke his leg a few years ago. Then he just disappeared from Ninja Warrior.

re: American Ninja Warrior -- Discussion Thread

I watch this show with my daughters and like it a lot. This is our 2nd year and we finally got through the season.

I don't know all the names by heart, but they do beat you over the head with there pre-programmed stars. I agree on overrated Kacy I don't understand the hype, but Flex was my favorite Lady competitor as well the "teach" and of course Jessie were awesome to watch. On the men's side it's great to see Drew and Joe and the PopeNinja or whatever his name is, I like the nicknames. I wish they would reward speed a lot more then always upper body, it would seem to level out the field a bit more.

It's silly to make that final leg so difficult, what's the point? Make it a doable course and set it as a timer whoever finished it fastest wins the $1million. Amazing Race and America's Got Talent, gives a million guaranteed, way toooo cheap NBC..

I'm not burned out on it, and glad its only a summer show, not sure how I missed it all these years, but I can see myself giving up on it after a few more years if they continue with this can't finish the final course nonsense.

re: American Ninja Warrior -- Discussion Thread

BTW i've had it confirmed that NO ninja athletes get paid by NBC, not even Kacy. That million dollar contract is bogus news.

NBC pay the announcers and that's it

The athletes rely on the exposure to further their outside businesses/profiles/pursuits

No wonder Kacy jumped at going to WWE

There will be a third season of Team Ninja Warrior, though it now has a new name and look: USA Network has ordered American Ninja Warrior: Ninja Vs. Ninja, which has 36 three-person teams competing on side-by-side courses. It was filmed in October and takes place at night, versus the daytime production of Team Ninja Warrior.

Guys, Sasuke 35 has aired. Drew Dreschel being the only foreign contestant.

It's a good one, worth checking out

Not sure why Sean McColl doesn't enter the regular ANW season

Drew basically appears in ninja contests all over the world - it's his career at this point.

Why was he on Team Europe then?

Edited to add that some sources have him living in France.

I believe one of his parents is actually French but had relocated to Canada, where Sean was raised. It's why he speaks perfectly fluent English without an accent.

The Ninja Vs. Ninja team racing show has moved to Mondays after RAW. It's amazing how often these ninja team races come down to one weak link on the team.

The two-time Emmy Award-nominated "American Ninja Warrior" returns for its seventh full season on NBC. Hosts Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbajabiamila are back, along with co-host Kristine Leahy. The action-packed series follows competitors as they tackle a series of challenging obstacle courses in both city qualifying and city finals rounds across the country. Those that successfully complete the finals course in their designated region move on to the national finals round in Las Vegas where they face a stunning four-stage course modeled after the famed Mt. Midoriyama in Japan. The winner will take home a grand prize of $1 million. This season the show will make stops in Dallas, Miami, Indianapolis, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Minneapolis before heading to Las Vegas. In its sixth season on NBC last summer, "American Ninja Warrior" remained a top draw, delivering a 1.7 rating in adults 18-49 and 6.8 million viewers overall in "live plus seven day" Nielsens to generate top-10 rankings among Big 4 primetime summer shows in adults 18-49, kids 2-11 and teens 12-17.

Premiering Wednesday, May 30 at 8/7c on NBC.

Been watching Ninja vs Ninja on USA. Looking forward to the regular season starting. Amazing that it's up to season 10. Never could have seen this happening back when I watched the JPN version on G4.

Akbar last week ran a celebrity course for charity on NBC's special. He struggled a bit more than I expected for being a former pro athlete, but it looks like he's carrying a lot of weight.

I hope ninja fans have been watching the Ninja versus Ninja racing on USA. It's far more thrilling than the regular version that airs on NBC.

Agree, the last episode with Jesse Labreck's team was sensational.

It's not like I didn't expect him to be in shape, but holy cow Akbar is yoked. That was a lot of muscle mass to drag through that course. Also, I could be mistaken but I thought they said something about him having a recent bicep injury.

Akbar did really well. I didn't think he'd get through the doorknob hang. He's huge.

I liked last year's version better since they had celebs I'm more interested in. Especially Natalie Morales. Big time hots for her. But this year they really seemed to train and were better equipped. Fuckin Derek Hough could be a Ninja Warrior if he gets tired of dancing. Derek, let's see your sister on the course.

If I thought he was intentionally doing that to be funny I’d tell him to take it down a notch because it was too over the top.
