Yes. Historically, a marriage wasn't valid until it was consummated. When marriages, particularly among nobles, were made for political reasons this was a huge deal. Back in the Middle Ages, when a couple was married, representatives of the families involved were allowed to watch the newly married couple fuck in order to have proof that the marriage was indeed consummated. (There was a scene in The Borgias where this actually happened.)

Loved Roose's speech to Ramsey as a parallel to Stannis with his daughter last episode. Hilarious how matter-of-factly he describes raping a woman under the hanging corpse of her husband, and what a great guy he was for taking in Ramsey instead of whipping his mother and killing the child.

Something major happening would make the two week wait worth it. They have a lot of work to do with only 5 episodes left.

(Shit... Can't remeber if Jon can warg in either the series or the books... There are so many fan theories about Starks warging that I can't remember whether or not anyone other than Bran can do it.)

I wonder why Sansa hasn't tried to send a message to her brother Jon at The Wall. You know, a simple "Hey I'm here at home again! Surrounded by psychos so would you mind sending an army here?" type of thing.

Jon can't do it himself, but he could probably warg into Ghost and pay a little visit to Winterfell...

She doesn't know he's in a position to do that, though. She probably assumes he's a rank-and-file soldier.

Does anyone else think Sansa has really aged since the series began. She has crow's feet and she looks like she's in her mid-30s. Maybe it's the dark hair, dreary clothes and matronly hairstyle.

This was also represented during the "Red Wedding", when after Edmure Tully gets married to Walder's Frey's one decent-looking daughter, they are immediately escorted out of the hall, to the bedroom. I don't remember if there were witnesses or not, but it does emphasize the importance of the consummation.

He couldn't do it anyway. The Nights Watch doesn't involve itself in the internal politics of the Seven Kingdoms. Its mission is to guard the Wall and keep the stuff on the other side of the Wall over there.

But Sophie (age 19) does look more like a contemporary of Margaery, and Natalie Dormer is 33.
