It's not 877-KARS-4-KIDS level annoying, but that ad they keep showing where a young woman introduces herself as a widow, shows a picture of her young late husband and tries to sell you Life Insurance is in SUCH poor taste. I really hate seeing it.

Mentioned it in the SB commercial thread but I hate the Matthew Broderick AI commercial where it shows all these people being able to take vacations because AI allows them to do all their complicated work in a minute. Like yeah, permanent vacations.
edited because I mistook Broderick for Jason Bateman

There is a local roofing company with an annoying jingle which is on CONSTANTLY. It sponsors the local news so every two seconds I have to hear that jingle. I went so far as to email them to let them know there is a such a thing as ad fatigue when something is repeated too often.

I think that was Matthew Broderick, yes.
And I agree, that was one of the more disturbing ads. "Smile, enjoy your day off, while we eradicate your usefulness."
Oh, did Southwest have an SB ad or did I see that some other time - the one where they pitch assigned seating as a benefit (for the customers), even though for their entire existence that and their bag policies were their main differentiators. (And of course assigned seating is much more a benefit for the airline because it opens up all sorts of new revenue opportunities.)

Oh I thought of another SB one:
The Ring one where they turn Ring into Big Brother under the guise of finding lost pets.

That ring ad was fucking dystopian. We can spy on and find anyone but "awe... lost pets." Fuck that.
So what's the best alternative to Ring? I've wanted to change for awhile, but "convenience" has won out thus far.

The worst part was the automatic opt in. So if you own a Ring product first thing I'd do is turn that off. As for replacements good question, I'd love to know too.

Well, step 1 complete. I just canceled my Ring service. Now the quest to find an alternative begins.

New Jardiance commercial isn’t a musical. Instead it’s a behind the scenes commercial of making the commercial. How Meta!
And they’re sticking with ‘Swell’ as their adjective of choice.
Could only find a pirated copy of the ad.
Sounds like Jardiance does nuclear weapon-level damage to your taint, BTW

This guy runs ads on every TV show, news broadcast, and sports programming in California.
He must have unlimited dollars and funds.
I don't know if I should vote for or against him so I don't have to see these ads non-stop.

1. the Shoprite commercial with the guy (Justin?) who talks to the customers and jokes with them, and they seem to be annoyed if he goes on too long.
2. Here in the Hudson Valley, NY, there are so many injury attorney commercials that are so annoying i can't stand them. Morgan and Morgan, the 1-800 Pain Law guy is atrocious and so not funny on his many different commercials.

This should probably go here. The infamous Kars4Kids is banned in CA for false advertising.

An Orange County judge has banned all Kars4Kids ads, including the earworm of a jingle, from broadcasting in the state of California after finding that the charity violated false advertising and unfair competition state laws.
The famous, or infamous, ad — best known locally for frequently playing throughout the day during KNBR commercial breaks — has been the subject of much scrutiny due to the lack of transparency regarding the organization’s religious affiliation and the fact that the money does not really go to “kids.”
In a case that dates back to 2021, Bruce Puterbaugh originally sued the charity’s affiliated organization, Oorah Inc., when he discovered that the money from the car he donated ($250) was not going to underprivileged kids in California but rather to an Orthodox Jewish program in New York and New Jersey. Puterbaugh told the court that he donated the car because he had heard the famous Kars4Kids jingle “over and over,” according to the certified court order published May 8. The TV ad in particular, featuring a multiracial group of kids playing instruments along to the tune, is what made Puterbaugh think the money would go to underprivileged kids, and the fact that he donated the car in California is what led him to believe the money would stay in-state.

Kids in need aren’t even really the target of the organization’s financial efforts. Instead, those go to 17- and 18-year-olds seeking gap-year trips to Israel and their families. Landau testified that $16.5 million even went to purchasing a building in Israel in 2022, and $437,000 was spent on “Middle East outreach.”

Even people who don't like Kennedy are thrilled with his wanting to ban drug commercials. Maybe for different reasons but the end result would be much better for watching network TV.
