I think they should have called it a "Cicero sunroof" instead of a "Chicago sunroof"...if it's something done in Chicago, it would have been better known.

Well I didn't like the sudden turn Jimmy did at the end walking into the court house.
I can see this is on par with Walter turning down the money from Gray Matter - and choosing to go it alone... but I think I just didn't 'get' the choice at that moment.
For me - it would have had more impact if he went in and they were treating him like a charity case, and this was a 'favor' to HHM.
Then I can see Jimmy feeling like no one respects him, they are just keeping him around as a favor, his time at that firm was limited to the duration of the case, and they don't trust him on any real cases.
Then the Chuck betrayal, the time in Chicago would have provided Jimmy with another avenue - (just like Walter had when presented with free treatment from his old partners).
Overall - the turn was too quick and stuffed into the last 2 minutes of a long episode.

Even with all the emotional trauma with Chuck, it's just not realistic. This is a good solid drama and a good successor to Breaking Bad. While BB and BCS are both well cast, Bryan Cranston was so unbelievably good as Walter White, that there is no way it would have been half as good without him. And I think that's what separates BB and BCS the most.

While doing yardwork yesterday I listened to this panel discussion with the cast and creators, which was recorded a few weeks ago. It's pretty good:

Interesting that they haven't ruled out future seasons taking place in Omaha or concurrently with the Breaking Bad timeline. And they joke about a spin-off of Mike in his Philadelphia days, but I'd watch the crap out of that show.

Kind of funny how I was getting a bunch of shit for merely suggesting that some scenes could take place during the Breaking Bad timeline in one of the earlier episodes this season and now it seems like it hasn't been ruled out by the creators. I definitely think that could make some sense and would be a good way to tie some of the characters from Better Call Saul to Breaking Bad.

I'm sure we'll find out eventually and its too early for those reveals at this point, but I'm curious as to what happens to characters like Chuck, Kim, and the other associates at Hammond McGill Hammond since none of them were even mentioned on Breaking Bad that I recall.
I did put the wrong firm name though.

Re: Better Call Saul (S1E10) -- Season Finale -- "Marco" -- 4/6/15
I finally caught up with the rest of this season after stopping around episode four or five. I really enjoyed the finale, precisely because it wasn't a typical "finale". It resolved the primary narrative and thematic drive of the season, and there was no big cliff hanger or huge set piece thrown in just because.
Overall, the show is way better than I expected. It's no Breaking Bad, the subject matter just isn't as interesting or appealing, but they did a great job fleshing out Saul's character which was my big concern for this show. While he was great in BB, he was somewhat one note. Great for hilarious quips and criminal know-how, but not much going on there as a person. They really took him in a surprising and interesting direction.
I think they also made a lot of smart choices this season with the Breaking Bad character tie-ins, keeping it interesting while adding depth and history to Saul's character. Mike's character was an obvious highlight of the season as well and not something I expected.
I do wonder if he will be a recurring character going forward. I certainly hope so. I'm really excited for the show going forward. I think we'll get a lot more in the way of criminal behavior and Jimmy/Saul getting in way over his head.
