Did they digitally enhance Scott Glenns ears?

Does he look like Leonard Nimoy, or is it me?

Speaking of Scott Glenn, did anyone else find it weird that they didn't try to de-age him using CGI or whatever during the flashbacks? He looks exactly the same age in the present as he did in the flashbacks. So does meditation cause him to not age or has he been dipping in a Lazarus Pit or what?

Re: Marvel's Daredevil (Netflix) - Season 1 Thread - Premieres 4/10/15

I'm on episode 10 and I was going to wait until the end to come in this thread but I just have to say (mild spoiler, regarding character's foreign language accent):
Spoiler:
It's really painful/impressive listening to D’Onofrio speak mandarin. I don't know a lick of the language myself but even I can tell that he put a lot of effort into actually learning the lines, at least phonetically, and yet at the same time his accent must be horrific. His character's delivery in english is very measured and deliberate, but when speaking mandarin it sounds like he's pausing between each syllable.

Also, as a cool tidbit of trivia, I read that in the scene where Madame Gao reveals that she knows Fisk can speak mandarin and they have a conversation using the language, they actually both switched to Japanese when she asked if Nobu realized he also understood Japanese.

I think that I'm 6 or 7 episodes in, and while I'm enjoying it, I'm slowing down my pace. It's just not as addictive to me as it is to others.

I was thinking the same thing. Looks the same after 20 years.

I thought the exact same thing. 20 years is a long time, whether it's 10 to 30 or 60 to 80.

Question about the ninja fight in episode 9

Spoiler:
Did he get sprayed with gas or something and I missed it? He seemed to go up in flames awfully easy. I was fixing my kid breakfast, but only looked away for a second

Spoiler:
Yes. In the flashforward where the knife first appears they have a clear shot of it being thrown and piercing a barrel, which starts leaking fluid. Then in the final fight, right before he catches on fire, DD kicks him in the chest with both feet and Nobu falls to the ground next to the barrels where the fuel has pooled. The shot also shows the fuel pouring out and there's an obvious audio effect of liquid pouring out. DD ends up on the ground after his kick and starts crawling away. When Nobu gets up his entire front is soaked and he walks towards DD for the final time.

Gotcha. I watched this episode spread out over 3 days. Details were lost as a result.

60 to 80 are the years you age the worst.

In the show Stick clearly states that his meditation ability keeps him looking so young.

He says clearly that he uses the healing meditation to still be alive.

The Wikia does a good job covering the character.

Wikis are user-edited so they are not always 100% correct. I do not remember any such dialogue in that episode where Stick said he uses meditation to keep from aging.

It isn't "clear" like you say because other posters here have said they thought the lack of aging was strange too. So either we all missed that particular piece of dialogue or that wikia is wrong.

just finished it. pure awesome. the suit reveal was awesome, although the final "battle" was sort of anticlimactic.

overall, i am thoroughly impressed at how awesome this was. the writing, acting (for the most part) and visuals were top notch. even though i know nothing of jessica jones, i'm looking forward to seeing that later this year.

It took me a few days, but I got through it and this series was great. I hope we see more Daredevil down the line, whether it be another series or in one of the movies. Best series that Marvel has done thus far.

You don't need to believe him, but Stick definitely said it. Believe me... or not. Or just pay better attention.

Re: Marvel's Daredevil (Netflix) - Season 1 Thread - Premieres 4/10/15

Finished this today and thought it was great. It might be my favorite thing Marvel has put out to date.
I'm glad they were able to pull off a dark, violent series with interesting characters and put the superpowers in the back seat for the most part.

One complaint I could make is some episodes felt like they could have been made a few minutes shorter by tightening some scenes up. There were a few scenes that felt long and not that interesting.

Scott Glenn reminded me of Robert Durst.

Finished the series last night!

Just great series, loved how fleshed out even the secondary characters were.

Loved the suit, loved all the fights.

If there are other comic shows better than this, we are truly in a golden age of comic TV shows.

No need to be a jerk about it. I pay attention, but I just missed it. I'm not the only one in this thread who missed it. I'm sure there are things you miss too.

To be fair, I don't think he was really being a jerk with that response. It's just that you were dismissive of two posts saying that it was explained, even after a link that corroborates the account.

Wait time out. So would Daredevil's sensory abilities be on par with Spider-Man's spidey sense? Obviously they're different in a lot of ways, but it seems like there's some kind of similarity there, that they provide them both with an edge (more of an extreme edge for Daredevil).

Radar sense enables Daredevil to see, Spider-Sense gives Spider-Man precog abilities, so Spidey probably has the edge here. He'd be able to know what's coming beforehand.
