Rick and the group continue to acclimate to their new surroundings. Will they be able to go back to normalcy? Better yet, what is normal now? Episode 13 of 16 |
Re: The Walking Dead (S5E13) -- "Forget" -- 3/8/15
I'm really not liking where the show seems to be going with Rick's group becoming the bad guys.

Re: The Walking Dead (S5E13) -- "Forget" -- 3/8/15
Rick is going to be the creepy Joe Biden/john Travolta of Alexandria.
Carol's intimidation scene was equal parts hilarious and horrifying. The wild horse being brought down when cornered had me briefly worried that Daryl might die. |
Re: The Walking Dead (S5E13) -- "Forget" -- 3/8/15
The Kevin Spacey impression was the best, followed by Brad Pitt.

They eat horses, don't they

Re: The Walking Dead (S5E13) -- "Forget" -- 3/8/15
I thought this was a pretty good episode actually. I like that we're seeing the characters adapting to life inside the walls in different ways and it makes sense that they'd be restless, on edge, and suffering from PTSD after all they've been through. It'll be interesting to see where it goes from here, but I don't imagine the peace will be long-lasting.
Even though it was really messed up I really loved the scene with Carol threatening the boy. Not crazy about the new love interest storyline for Rick though.

Carol is stone cold.

Is it mean of me to hope there is a town bully that punches Carl in the face?

Re: The Walking Dead (S5E13) -- "Forget" -- 3/8/15
The street Rick walks by when waving to Jessie and her husband at the end of the episode was named "Morgan"

It stuck no one as suspicious that Carol, Daryl and Rick kept going on those little sojourns.

Carol mentioned that she told them that they were taking her out to show her how to shot. |

The only thing I don't like is Rick trying to put the moves on the doctor's wife. I know he's changing, but given who he was before and after everything he went through with Shane and Lori, it just doesn't seem like something Rick would do after a few days. In no way am I saying that makes the show bad, though. It's a different direction for the character, and one I'm not enjoying so far. |
Re: The Walking Dead (S5E13) -- "Forget" -- 3/8/15
The doctor jerk didn't come back with Rick's drink, no wonder he wants the wife now.

Damn, Carol. Just damn.

I actually wish they would divide the group and have only some of them adapt to the new surroundings, and the others are forced to leave. It would create a great dramatic dynamic to see people like Sasha who just can't live that 'normal' life again compared to a Glenn/Maggie who would welcome a chance to live a normal married life. Plus it would be a way to cut out half of the group as I still think the group is too big and hurting some good character development. And what happened to Father Gabriel???? |

Mostly, they're just being pragmatic, which I'd guess a lot of people are actually happy about. If they weren't pragmatic at this point, people would be complaining quite abit and commenting endlessly on how stupid they are.

Tip to people in the Walking Dead universe: NEVER let Carol watch after your kids.

Was that in the show? I guess I missed it.
Well shit now Rick's just a jerk. |

Re: The Walking Dead (S5E13) -- "Forget" -- 3/8/15
So now that Rick is horny it will ruin this situation. Nice. It is actually a better angle than being overtaken by another group etc...

Re: The Walking Dead (S5E13) -- "Forget" -- 3/8/15
Last week, we had creepy husband Pete on the porch. This week, it was all about creepy Rick.
If Rick winds up killing the husband/ruining the Alexandria community, is it something his character can ever redeem himself from? The writers need to be careful here. |
Re: The Walking Dead (S5E13) -- "Forget" -- 3/8/15
Carol remains my favorite character, I'm glad they've gotten her back into the story. However, the writers have softened her. The old Carol would have killed that kid outright.

I was glad to see that Daryl didn't take one of the guns, but was disappointed that Rick took one (since he was trusted with a gun as part of his job) Daryl was right - if they are going to even try to make it work they have to have some trust. That - and he has a crossbow. |
Re: The Walking Dead (S5E13) -- "Forget" -- 3/8/15
It wasn't just about having guns. It was about having unregistered guns that the town doesn't know they have.
Did they say if Daryl has to return the crossbow when he goes back inside the gate? |

Re: The Walking Dead (S5E13) -- "Forget" -- 3/8/15
A lot of comic references in this episode. I know it's a big cast and they want to keep costs down but you have a cocktail party for the new people and some of them are inexplicably absent. Things like that really stick out in this show.

Re: The Walking Dead (S5E13) -- "Forget" -- 3/8/15
I'm glad to see they are keeping the plot-line from the comics where Father Gabriel and Eugene have their romantic secret love nest tucked away from everyone else where they look for the virus cure... but end up finding each other instead.

Re: The Walking Dead (S5E13) -- "Forget" -- 3/8/15
This might get taken down as it looks like it was a video of a TV screen, but Ross Marquand's (Aaron) impression of Matthew McConaughey was just dead on, on Talking Dead last night.
