Well,
Spoiler:
her character on this show is supposed to be grating - very grating - so perhaps it will work for you...

I hope the plot twist in a future episode is that the Last Man on Earth
Spoiler:
accidentally kills the most annoying Woman on Earth

This debuted well last night with a 2.3 demo ratings (up sharply from Brooklyn Nine-nine's 1.8 lead-in) and 5.7m viewers. Held steady for the full hour.

The new Texas Chainsaw was a huge hit.

Not as good as I had hoped. I'll probably give it another shot. It kind of reminds me of the Fox shows from the early 90s.

Hmmmm....if a character is supposed to be purposely grating does that make said grating person easier to watch?

Actually, from what the opening establishes, he is the last known male on Earth that he knows of.

He only hit the mainland parts of the United States and maybe a few places in Canada. For logistical reasons, it was never established even by him that he looked all over Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, or anywhere in South America. Its also not clear if he checked Hawaii but considering he'd need a boat and that would take some time, he might have. Although, if he looked in Hawaii then he could have floated out to Puerto Rico.

So there could be other "survivors" in other countries.

Was that a picture of Jason Sudekis as his brother? Sure looked like him.

Yup, definitely him. Also looked like Barry Bostwick (or maybe Bruce Boxleitner...I always get those two confused) as the father. Didn't recognize the mother. Maybe they'll have some flashbacks.

I can see why they had to add another character, but I could have seen a lot more of Phil just goofing off on his own.

Hopefully, there's a super-extended episode 1 as a DVD extra.

Yeah, there should have been a lets get thing back on track montage, showing him getting better and better and then a shot of him staring at the mannequin again (or something) and "6 months later" followed by his house being a disaster again.

She was also the worst part of Flight of the Conchords. I was pretty disappointed to see her show up in what I thought was an otherwise entertaining show. But as mentioned elsewhere at least she is supposed to be annoying. But I would definitely prefer someone acting that way.

I liked her in Conchords, and by the time she showed up in 30 rock it had already jumped the shark for me anyway. First three seasons, gold, after that it got more and more inconsistent.

Anyway, this show has a lot of potential and I enjoyed the premier.

She suits Bob's Burgers, didn't care for her on 30 Rock but she doesn't detract too terribly much for me.

She is the voice of Mabel in Gravity Falls, so she can do no wrong in my eyes. Admittedly, I am mostly only aware of her because of her voice work in GF...still, I will stand by my words.

Loved it! And I thought Schaal was fucking perfect for the part. The hilarious thing is even though he's the last man on Earth, he still has to work super hard for pussy, pussy he wouldn't normally even want.

Big fan of Forte on SNL and I watched the first episode.

Surprise this show got good ratings.

Movies and TV shows dealing with the Apocalypse and end of the world themes are popular so I guess I should not be that surprised.

I enjoyed it. As for super annoying last woman, that's makes it all the funnier.

well, i'll have to say, as much as Schaal annoys the shit out of me, she's perfect playing the annoying person here. i don't like her, but she fits in this role.

I'm really disappointed this show turns into just another "two people who annoy each other are stuck together and hilarity ensues" sitcom trope by the second episode. Might keep watching, but was expecting something else.

Me too. I was all in until Schaal shows up.
She's funny on cartoons but not here.

Pt 1 funny, pt 2 not funny.
