I liked how these last two episodes were really complimentary towards each other. We needed to see that despair, that absolute loss of faith, and then this episode that renews their hope.

I was talking to a few co-workers this morning about the episode, and what about the pictures Aaron showed Michonne and she questioned that none of them had any people in it? I know she then did the standard questions of 'how many people have you killed?', but is she still suspicious of his answer that the picture of people didn't develop the right way?

I just thought it was weird that Aaron asks Rick about keeping Judith quiet with the applesauce in case roamers hear her, yet it's ok to hear the sounds of kids playing behind the walls at Alexandria?

That was a barn in the woods versus what sounds like a fortress.

Interesting episode. And of course Rick was right.

5 more episodes. Makes me wonder. Something needs to happen. A big problem. A big climax. Not enough episodes to introduce a big baddie. Unless he stays for the next season.

You know, the usual, the second to last episode is always big. Or most of the time.

Alexandria is on the way to DC (he has that map) so he could still naturally come across it.

Still, walkers/roamers can still come up to the gates and eventually get into the town all WorldWarZ style.

I thought the noises were of kids being eaten, that's why Rick looked so solemn at the end.

I will assume you're kidding. These walkers come apart when a fire hose sprays them. World War Z was walkers on steroids.

I actually really enjoyed this episode. My only gripe is the hiding of the gun thing, which definitely means some shit is going to go down in Alexandria and he is going to need it. I really wish this show had better writers.

Why would they eat kids? They have applesauce.

(...unless kids taste like pork chops)

The license plate thing was explained away as innocuous by mr. broken ankle guy.

If the last episode of the season is called "Lucille" I'm going to crap my Levis.

Spoiler:
I sort of hope they hold off on introducing "Lucille" for awhile. I think it would feel too repetitive at this point. They really should follow the comic for the next season and then maybe introduce "her" at the end of next season.

Too funny. I jokingly said to my wife "Yeah, play the recording of the kids having fun" followed by "No, no! Don't play the recording of the kids being eaten."

Get out of my head!

I agree. The comic works because the group gets a break before running into another total nutjob. When it does finally happen, I do expect that storyline to run a full two seasons given the Gov got a season and a half ....

I think they may either pull a switcharoo with the

Whisperers
comic storyline or come up with some more new material. It's also quit possible that Morgan
Spoiler:
winds up at Hilltop Colony
and integrating the two communities could be the focus going forward.

at the geography of the episode. If you can see the Washington Monument at that distance (and there's no such vantage point as that road has), and you're "halfway there" then you're about 3 miles away.

Other than that, I liked this ep, Aaron was a good addition.

I don't think they could've Eric any more fabulous unless they had him in a musical number.

Obviously the comic readers know if these two guys are good or not. Something has to go wrong in Alexandria, doesn't it? Besides the scenic setting, I have to believe we'll start getting rumors on the show of zombie research being performed in the DC area. N.I.H. is practically across the Potomac, I wonder if that gets brought in? If there is any remaining Federal government in this world, it would be within a couple hundred miles of DC.

I bet the I.R.S. is still around. Nothing can stop that agency, including the zombie apocalypse.

Could you guys put these statement in spoilers please! I know you are not being descriptive about this character, but some people like me who don't read the comics don't want to know anything at all, even if its a small tidbit.

Thanks!

Or maybe have a 'The Walking Dead' Comic Book Spoiler thread so you guys can talk about stuff that is in the comic book and how it relates to the show.

Re: The Walking Dead (S5E11) -- "The Distance" -- 2/22/15

This is going to be at least 3 seasons of a story coming up until
Spoiler:
the jail cell. Lucille will probably be mid-season finale next year. This upcoming situation until the jail is the best of the entire comic in my opinion. Shiva will probably be some horrendous CGI if they do it.

Just wait until you see Lucille. Some think she's a little too thin but what a knockout.

Rick will never be happy with anything... Honestly, I thought that Woodbury was a fine place to live out the rest of my days. But people got all worked up that they had zombie gladiator fights

I agree, there will be some rule or power structure that gets Rick all worked up and off they go again.
