Who knows? The Amazing Race has been a successful show for CBS in that it's cheap to produce, has a loyal following and has won a truck load of Emmys.

That said, I know it's all about ratings. I think it will do better tonight and probably does a lot better on DVR.

Considering how a lot of us didn't know the premiere was on Wednesday, I'd say a lot of people just missed it. And maybe the DVR crowd didn't know they had to set it that early. Finally, I bet the 9:30 time on a school night eliminated a lot of audience as well.

Sorry buckeyes8604, but we had one of the worst teams in Amazing Race history. I wasn't even sure they would be capable of eating the noodles once they chose the right Detour. How do you miss a train by taking a selfie??????

I thought we had a good pick, but after the first episode it was only a matter of time. Disappointing.

Bad week for me, with one team lost in TAR and my Survivor pick being voted out first. At least Tyler and Laura are looking strong!

The good news now is that there will no more eliminations for 2 weeks. The bad news is the next episode will be in 3 weeks.

Well that was sad - would rather had "NKOTB-Plus One" be in it throughout the whole episode and lose it in a close finish - instead of them being out of it throughout the whole leg. We never got the bunch-up that teams who usually have to do the speed bump get. Wonder if they made up any time after Matt/Ashley messed up there at the end.

Well thanks for letting me play - good luck to everyone who is still left. Will do this again come next season - I may even try to do both drafts. This makes watching the episodes more exciting when you have a rooting interest in one of the teams.

It's been so long, I almost forgot to watch.

Sorry Groucho & Davidh777. One thing that's always bothered me about TAR contestants is why so many of them don't do anything to prepare for the race. I don't know how to drive a stick either, but it would be at the top of my to do list if I were to apply for the show.

Damn, and they'd had some good weeks too. Going into TAR without knowing how to drive a stick is like going into Survivor not knowing how to swim or make fire. Makes me feel smug for driving a stick every day.

My thoughts exactly. Who knowingly goes on TAR not knowing how to drive a stick? For the last couple DOZEN seasons, they always show that you're driving a stick at some point...

And, personally, I think Blair deserves some kind of an award if he makes it through the race without shanking Hayley.

It's like half the chefs on Hell's Kitchen never even cooked risotto or scallops before coming on the show, or people on Survivor not doing any fire building or shelter building research. Just crazy.

I didn't realize until I rewatched the opening that they'd actually won the previous leg.

I bet there are viewers who are saying "Hmm, cross Ford Focus off my wishlist because I can't drive a stick."

During our drafts there were a total of 13 attempts to draft Aly & Steve.

Unfortunately, JuryDuty and Dfmaverick2 were successful.

Sorry guys, thanks for playing, but a speed bump and a U-Turn were too much for them to overcome.

At least both of your secondary teams are still in the race!

Wow, Steve and Aly completely fell apart the last two legs. It seemed like Aly was passive aggressive while Steve took things a bit too nonchalant. They had back to back bad legs and definitely was targeted by the other racers for being strong competitors.

I cannot believe the two teams I drafted are still in this race. One literally is badgering her race partner every chance she gets. I am surprised he hasn't lost it and just quit the race already like Kurt and Bergen. I have no idea how Mike and Rochelle are still in this race. They seem slow and lost half the time. I think they just do better than one other team each time. Namibia looks like a beautiful country.

I found it funny that one of my teams (Tyler and Laura) U-Turned my other team (Steve & Aly).

Do they not know that they should be working together for me?

Even not being U-Turned wouldn't have saved them, I believe. They were doing well, but as others observed, they went downhill fast. Aly even came off a bit annoying like Hayley at times during the episodes.

It's never good when at the beginning of the show, it has you saying that you don't have too many fights or problems.

Great episodes, in a beautiful setting. I love when the Race goes to Africa.

Really surprised Steve & Aly fell apart the way they did. I tried to get them for both drafts. Still have 1 team left, that luckily is going well. Go Laura & Tyler!

Just goes to prove you can't guess what'll happen based on the images and pre-interviews. The team I got stuck with because no one wanted them in the first draft has lasted longer than the team I fought for in the second.
