Well the series debuted in 2008 and the entire course of the series takes place over two years, give or take. I'm not sure if the timeline in the show actually starts at 2008 though.

Plus again, Skyler could still testify, considering that the FBI was putting pressure on her even in the series finale, Walt told him the location of Hank and Gomez's bodies so that she had something more to tell them.
Exactly. All the main accomplices are dead other than Skyler and Jesse both of whom I think could be persuaded to testify to their parts in the crimes that occurred if the pressure was put on them hard enough. Skyler I think would be a bit harder to break since she has her kids to take care of and also Marie who I think would be even more crushed if Skyler went down. Jesse's guilty concious could get the best of him eventually. He testified to Hank and Gomez and we've seen in the past that he doesn't handle guilt very well. Not to mention Ted, who even though he told Skyler he wouldn't say anything could come forward if the FBI asked him if he knew anything. Granted he may not know as much but I'm sure he has some ideas and could probably piece things together once the truth about Walt came out.

Saul couldn't just go strolling back into town with no consequences at this point. Plus like bluetoast mentioned, he already had his office destroyed and had his new life put together. He also did warn both Walt and Jesse if either of them chose that path that there wasn't any turning back so the same applies to himself.

It doesn't appear that my cable company is getting this show for On Demand from AMC. They have no idea why. Do other folks with On Demand digital cable services have it available to stream now?

I got the first episode for free from VUDU, but don't know how to watch the second episode (will probably catch a rerun this week). Really was just counting on the On Demand digital cable option.

Decker, do you have Netflix? Use Hola and it should be available on the U.K. site.

Do you have a DVR? I assume you do since you're able to watch On Demand. AMC is re-airing episodes 1 and 2 multiple times throughout the week in the late hours. Or you can watch it on AMC's site logging in through your provider if they support it.

For the record, I have Directv and AMC On Demand and they have yet to post episode 1. It might be on a 5-7 day delay.

I do have a DVR, but it's in the Family Room and therefor harder to watch once the kids go to sleep. In my Man Cave/ theater room I have a digital cable box where I watch most of my non-sports programs On Demand instead. Just to be safe, I'll record Episode 2 late some night.

But I still need some other solution than watching it on AMC live on Sunday Nights. I'm going to be watching SNL40 this Sunday and then the Oscars after that.

I could also watch the episodes on the computer from the AMC website itself, but I'd rather watch it on my TV. I assumed can't watch a UK Netflix on my Xbox/PS4/Roku?

Yeah, unfortunately I don't believe UK Netflix is accessible via U.S. consoles/Roku.

Better Call Saul airs on Monday nights, so there shouldn't be a problem. Only the premiere was on a Sunday night.

Okay that's good to know.

Just watched the premiere (after finally binge watching the entire run of Breaking Bad over the final two months of 2014). Pretty fun premiere. Curious to see where it's headed.

It was way more than 2 years. The black Chrysler 300 SRT8 he bought was released in 2012.

The 2-year span is based on the pilot taking place on Walter White's 50th birthday, and the finale on his 52nd birthday. The series timeline was September 2009 through September 2011. The car was first unveiled in April 2011.

Some specific things don't match up with the timeline but it was two years. The series starts on Walt's fiftieth birthday and the last episode starts on his fifty-second birthday.

I thought I read somewhere that Better Call Saul which takes place in 2002 takes place six years before the events of Breaking Bad so that would make it 2008. I think some of the specifics of the timeline are a bit off to be honest.

Yeah, and it's hardly important. But the 2009 start apparently came from at some point the show establishing that Walter was born in 1959.

Incorrect. It takes more effort than on a PC, and might require some changes to the DNS on your router, but once everything is set up, you can switch Netflix regions pretty easily. I switch between UK, US, and Canada all the time, and it works perfectly on my Roku, consoles, stand alone BD player, etc.

Hmmm, you got a link as to how to do that? I'd be interested in working it on the Roku and PS3. Though I'd have to quit the disc based service first, which I just restarted, since they only allow streaming from a U.S. region.

I don't know if it is region locked or not, but AMC is letting non-subscribers stream the second episode for free.

Re: Better Call Saul (S1E01) -- 75 minute premiere -- "Uno" -- 2/8/15

The reason I asked about the timeline for BB is I'm trying to figure out when the opening of BCS takes place.

Saul is obviously older with thinning hair and grey in his mustache.

There's a food safety sign for Omaha, Nebraska that has the date, 1857 with a 200 year banner over it. That would make it 2057. That would put Saul in his 80's. He doesn't look quite that old.

Yeah that's weird. The seal says "city of Omaha Nebraska" on top and "incorporated _______ 1857" with a "two hundred years" banner over it. Obviously the show is not set in 2057 haha but what is up with that seal?

Edit: watching the beginning again, I like seeing store managers who actually work. Saul is a good guy.

Maybe Saul time-traveled to 2057 and he's still paranoid! ::

It may have been unveiled in April but wasn't available to customers until Aug of 2011 and it even then it was scarce. It's not a high volume variant. So, according to the timeline the last couple of seasons of BB took place in the span of 1 month.

Walter White was not your typical customer. But yes, based on the show timeline he bought the car one year before it was actually available to the general public (seven months before it was unveiled). But even more to your point, the car used in the show was a 2013 model. So yes, the car was an anachronism but hardly an egregious one.

The vehicle doesn't matter. To the viewer, it was just supposed to be an expensive ass car. There's plenty of situations where shows have anachronistic props for the given timeline. Mad Men probably has quite a few (to whoever notices), but as long as it's not a cell phone, nobody really cares. The show took place over the course of two years as evidenced by the birthdays.

at thinking the car was a clue and not an anachronism.

North Omaha was first settled in 1812, so that's probably where "200 years" comes from.

Depending on how long that sign has been there, the black and white part would seem to take place anywhere from 2012 to the present.
