Apparently it's money related. They are moving production to Pittsburgh because of their tax incentives to help cut costs.

I was just thinking about the change in scenery/location for the show. I'm wondering if something happens really drastically that causes the show to change. I mean, it's not really like you can make PA look like where they film in NC right now. I wonder if the whole show changes as a result of something that happens.

Apparently North Carolina dumped it's TV/Film tax incentive program. That was the main instigator that forced Cinemax to move the show to Pittsburgh. I'm sure they would have stayed there had it continued to be financially beneficial. I agree with dex14 that the show's is probably a little high and they needed to keep the costs down so they can get their 5th season, which they said would be the last. hence the episode cut.

i was just thinking there is no way to really reproduce Cadi police station, so maybe it gets blown up soon?

maybe they realize the town in built on a homicide hellmouth and everyone just "moves to pittsburgh" and they integrate that into the show. make the new big bads out of work steelworkers instead of an amish guy and native Americans.

i do feel gypped only getting 8 episodes even if they will still cram lots into those 8. 2 less hours of titties and people being killed with A-1 steak sauce bottles.

Read somewhere... IMDB, twitter?... that the eight episodes would have longer running times.
