Arrow (S3E12) - "Uprising" - 2/4/15

MALCOLM MAKES AN OFFER TO HELP TEAM ARROW - Still operating without Oliver (Stephen Amell) and desperate to stop Brick (guest star Vinnie Jones), Team Arrow is forced to consider Malcolm's (John Barrowman) offer to help shut Brick down as Malcolm has a personal score to settle with the felon. Roy (Colton Haynes) and Laurel (Katie Cassidy) point out that the team could use some help to save the innocents of The Glades, but Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) is adamantly against it. They look to Diggle to make the final decision. Meanwhile, the flashbacks chronicle Malcolm's descent from kind-hearted father and husband to cold-blooded killer after the murder of his wife. Jesse Warn directed the episode written by Beth Schwartz & Brian Ford Sullivan (#312). Original airdate 2/4/2015.

Really not going to explain the Oliver living thing other than "will and herbs?" lazy writing

yeah... It was really a lame cliff hanger if getting a sword through you is just cured with simple herbs, will and stitches.

Never mind lungs or vital organs, muscles and the such, it's perfectly normal to get a sword stabbed through you and fall hundreds of feet off a cliff on to rocks and walk away.

Re: Arrow (S3E12) - "Uprising" - 2/4/15

Hey they said Brick was just a normal guy but he has been shot by guns and arrows multiple times and appears to have suffered not at all. Maybe he has the same will power and takes the same herbs as Oliver.

One episode is saying he doesn't kill women and in the next he saying he killed one just for fun.

Officer Lance can spot Roy in a suit but not his daughter.

Sin at least was done correctly. I'm glad she let Lance know how dumb he was being.

I'm getting the feeling that each episode isn't on the same page and they have been using nearly independent teams to finish them. We are starting to see inconsistencies in tone and writing quality, episode to episode.

I guess it was nice of the villains to avoid using guns in that street brawl.

I did like that Detective Lance just didn't take a second to determine it was Roy.

They really need to tighten things up. Oliver's death and resurrection was messy.
It's silly to watch Det. Lance spot Roy so easy but not anyone else.
Felicity needs to realize teaming with Merlin is best for business right now. Stop whining.

I was really having a hard time believe that whole take back the streets brawl when the criminals were rushing into the residents battle cry while holding automatic weapons. Come on, Arrow. You can do better than this.

It really does feel like there's no showrunner involved right now steering the story in any real direction.

Well too be fair he only saw Laurel from a distance in a dark alley and hasn't been anywhere close to her yet.

I thought Brick said he wouldn't hit women, but had no problem shooting them?

I agree the "Oliver was save with will power and herbs" is stretching my disbelief a bit. Even if he did survive the fall, his body would be pretty messed up. Maybe the writers will reveal Oliver was brought back in a Lazarus Pit in a future episode.

Re: Arrow (S3E12) - "Uprising" - 2/4/15

Ollie's big speech in the center of town to announce his return was kind of goofy. Same goes with the big street brawl. But other than that, it was a decent Episode. The back story about Merlin added some perspective.

at Captain Lance recognizing Roy. I wonder how much longer Laurel can keep putting on this charade with him about Sara.

Not long, now that Sin has raised his curiosity.

How would Laurel be able to hide all of those cuts and bruises at her office job?

Laurel's legs look like twigs that would snap when she was in that skirt. Just gross.

He got cast on another show so he might as well be dead.

Where are you seeing this? I looked at his IMDB page and it doesn't look like anything new upcoming for him.

It's know that
Spoiler:
Slade Wilson
is coming back so perhaps a link between those two characters would explain Brick's resilience.

I heard on a after show on youtube months ago, but it is also listed on IMDB. Funny enough it is the very first sentence on the page. "currently, J.R. is shooting the Starz series Power, which second season is set to premiere Summer 2015."

I think they left it up in the air and never really finished that scene. The actor has moved on from Arrow. Personally, I don't think it's a huge loss. I assume Oliver will see Laurel getting destroyed by opponents and decide to help train her.

Or they recast Wildcat after the beating he got.

This was really weak. If spinning off a show hurt Arrow this much, I hope Atom doesn't happen.

Worst episode of the season. Just sloppy and cheesy.
