Trying Edge right now. Haven't really had time to watch much of Amazon's originals. But Martini and Yvonne Strahovski are definitely draws for me.

Just so much content between Amazon, Netflix and TV/cable. Just not enough time.

Re: Amazon Pilot Season Discussion Thread

Just finished watching Edge.

Started out a little slow, but the 2nd half of the episode was a hell of a lot of fun. The violence was a little over the top, but the pacing was so much better.

I liked Max Martini as the lead, but I think they need to flesh out his character a little more. He seems pretty one-dimensional as a revenge-seeking drifter. If it goes to series, I hope they give Yvonne Strahovski more to do. I felt she was kind of wasted here.

I voted on Amazon and gave it 4 stars. I think it has potential. Cool that the Pilot was co-written and directed by Shane Black.

I thought Good Girls Revolt was the best of the three I've watched, Edge is pretty good, but my second choice, The Patriot is a distant third and I might be out if it's picked up.

I watched Good Girls Revolt awhile ago and enjoyed. It was well cast and we all know Meryl is happy with the role her daughter played. Anna Camp has that look works well for period piece shows and movies. Jim Belushi was great in his role. I'm going to try and check out Edge later on tonight.

"The Man in the High Castle" will drop this Friday, November 20. I expect this to be my favorite new show of 2015...

They already have the 2nd episode up. Very good. Can't wait for the rest.

What about Sneaky Pete?

Edit: nevermind, apparently it got a series order back in September.

I was just about to watch the pilot...the show looks awesome. Guess I'm wasting my time.

The pilot seemed pretty much like a self-contained movie with something added on the end to continue the story.

I just watched the pilot for Edge. Liked it, I definitely would have watched a show with that character. Shame it didn't get picked up.

“From F. Scott Fitzgerald’s last work, The Last Tycoon follows Monroe Stahr, Hollywood’s Golden Boy as he battles father figure and boss Pat Brady for the soul of their studio,” reads the official synopsis for The Last Tycoon. “In a world darkened by the Depression and the growing influence of Hitler’s Germany, The Last Tycoon illuminates the passions, violence and towering ambition of 1930s Hollywood.

“Based on the Meg Wolitzer’s novel about a group of friends who meet at an arts camp when they’re 15 in 1974,” reads Amazon’s synopsis for The Interestings. “The series chronicles their relationships throughout the next three decades dealing with the great expectations of youth juxtaposed with the realities life hands you as you get older.”

Anybody watch either of these?

I found a joint trailer - very difficult to get a good sense of plots. I would have liked independent trailers.

Re: Amazon Pilot Season Discussion Thread

I just finished watching The Last Tycoon. It was a good pilot that included quite a bit of backstory on a few of the main characters. I'll probably wait until tomorrow to watch The Interestings.

Liking the Last Tycoon, bailed on the interestings, seemed a little forced. Might come back to it later in the summer.

Last Tycoon production values are great.

Watched The Interestings, it was just alright IMO, I won't care if it doesn't become a series. I still need to watch The Last Tycoon, it looks pretty good.

Re: Amazon Pilot Season Discussion Thread

Watched Last Tycoon and thought it was so so. I'd probably rate 3 stars. Production values were high. The beginning had good pace, but it ended up wandering too much and couldn't find its identity. Spends most of the episode focusing on a character and I'm not sure to what end. Shock value? Is the series meant to be about the studio boss?

I thought perhaps the core group were going to leave and start their own studio with the help of the family on the other side of the fence. Maybe that's cliche, but would probably have been more interesting that what I watched.

Watching Sigmund and the Sea Monsters.

The kids are creepy especially the taller "boy".

Doesn't have the charm of the real show.
