Prison Break -- Season 5 coming to FOX in 2017

Re: FOX revives Prison Break for event series with Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purce
Prison Break has sentenced Mark Feuerstein to a life of violence and heartache domestic bliss with Dr. Sara Tancredi.
TVLine has learned that the Royal Pains alum is joining Fox’s forthcoming revival in the recurring role of Scott Ness, the formidable husband of Sarah Wayne Callies’ Dr. Sara Tancredi. Callies is in talks to return as Sara, but there’s no deal currently in place.
Series stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell have signed on to reprise their lead roles as brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows in the 9-episode event series, which was greenlit in January.
“The story unravels on an international landscape — it’s not a domestic [plot],” Fox co-chariman/CEO Dana Walden recently shared. “We open on a very international contemporary-feeling story.”
Walden said that Fox’s Prison Break continuation will “address” the events of the straight-to-DVD epilogue, The Final Break, in which a major character met his demise. Noting how many times the characters have broken out of prison, “It’s not a documentary!” she laughed.
The Fox drama’s original producing team, including series creator Paul T. Scheuring, Neal Moritz, Marty Adelstein and Dawn Olmstead, will executive-produce the new series, with Scheuring serving as showrunner.

9 episodes sounds good for this. With Mark Feuerstein signing on, probably means that he's for all intents and purposes done with Royal Pains after it's upcoming 8th season.
I'm guessing this will be the filler during Gotham's midseason break next season. I think Gotham and Lucifer will return and take over Monday nights in the Fall.

Sarah Wayne Callies officially signs on: http://deadline.com/2016/03/sarah-wa...di-1201719121/
Production begins next month in Vancouver. Looks like they are filming there to accommodate Miller and Purcell since they film Legends of Tomorrow there.
Deals are still being finalized for original cast members Robert Knepper, Rockmond Dunbar and Amaury Nolasco to return and reprise their respective roles as T-Bag, C-Note and Fernando.

Official synopsis. Will premiere on Thursdays midseason 2017
PRISON BREAK
PRISON BREAK is back and ready for its biggest escape yet. In the thrilling new event series PRISON BREAK, original series stars Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Sarah Wayne Callies, Amaury Nolasco, Robert Knepper, Rockmond Dunbar and Paul Adelstein are reunited for an all-new adventure spanning the globe and featuring the signature thrills and cliffhangers that were hallmarks of the original series when it aired on FOX from 2005-2009. The original action drama centered on MICHAEL SCOFIELD (Miller, "The Loft"), a young man determined to save his convicted brother, LINCOLN BURROWS (Purcell, "DC's Legends of Tomorrow"), from death row by hatching an elaborate plan to escape from prison. In the all-new event series, filmed on location in Morocco, clues surface that suggest a previously thought-to-be-dead Michael may be alive. Lincoln and SARA (Sarah Wayne Callies, "Colony," "The Walking Dead"), Michael's wife until he was assumed dead, reunite to engineer the series' biggest escape ever, as three of Fox River State Penitentiary's most notorious escapees, SUCRE (Nolasco, "Telenovela"), T-BAG (Knepper, "Heroes") and C-NOTE (Dunbar, "The Mentalist"), are pulled back into the action. "Prison Break" was an immediate critical and ratings hit when it premiered on FOX in the fall of 2005, garnering Golden Globe Award nominations for Best Television Series - Drama and Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama (Miller). The original producing team, including series creator Paul T. Scheuring, Neal Moritz, Marty Adelstein and Dawn Olmstead, will return to executive-produce the new series, with Scheuring serving as showrunner/writer.

Wow, that looks good.
So, Michael's trapped in a Morrocan Prison. Guess the title Prison Break still makes sense.

I will watch... but this, to me, is a pointless revival. The show never needed 4 seasons to begin with.
What is next... a revival for The O.C. ?

Re: Prison Break -- Season 5 coming to FOX in 2017
a 9 episode run is sensible. Will mean things won't be dragged out, it will be action all the way and no unwelcome oversaturation
Enough people will tune in for nostagla for a short run

Comic Con trailer.
Some new footage in it, but it's 85% the same trailer as before.

Since it's a 9 episode season, they should finish by May 30th if it runs 1 hour per week.
If they do a 2 hour finale, then it can finish by May sweeps on the 23rd.
I'm really looking forward to the 5th season. Looking forward to the crazy explanation of how Michael survived the brain tumor and being electrocuted.

Original episode order was 10. However they only had time to shoot 9. So they had to condense 2 episodes into 1.
Miller and Purcell said the reunion only happened because of The Flash. Mainly because they hadn't worked together since Prison Break ended until they both joined The Flash and then Legends.

This review isn't exactly glowing: https://www.yahoo.com/tv/sxsw-tv-rev...190035291.html
I am currently rewatching the series and am in Season 4. It plays better when you binge it, but the series was such a downward slope of quality.
