Bravestarr is a late 80's cartoon, we still need to go through M.A.S.K., Captain Planet, Voltron, Thundercats (live action, of course), Silverhawks, and Captain Planet (optioned by Sony?) before we get to stuff like Bravestarr and C.O.P.S. Almost there though. That CGI horse will be great, I'm sure.

How in the heck do you come to that conclusion? Just because I like Cass as Batgirl makes me too willing to accept anything DC prints? Um, what? Talk about jumping to absurd conclusions...

Two stints on the Justice League, including one in the highly hyped (and DC's #1 selling title for over a year) 2006 JLA re-launch by Brad Meltzer and Ed Benes, as well as being a long-time character in the Suicide Squad, makes her unknown except for the most hardcore of hardcore nerds?

Yeah, I don't see why they used Vixen when they could have used any number of their more popular minority female superheroes like... hmm... wait, it'll come to me... Katana? Bumblebee?

What I find kind of ironic is that DC doesn't have any kids-oriented cartoons except for Teen Titans Go (which also had Vixen in an episode). They put out a kids Batman direct to DVD movie, but I don't see how parents knew to pick it up when all of their other direct to DVD stuff is decidedly adult, especially the last few releases (and the Timm-directed upcoming one).

According to a TV Guide . com article -
Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Rickards of Arrow and Grant Gustin and Carlos Valdez of The Flash will lend their voices to the cartoon versions of their characters.
Also Megalyn Echikunwoke will voice Mari Jiwe McCabe AKA Vixen.
The character - Vixen - (and perhaps Megalyn herself) is expected to make cameos on the LIVE action CW shows - Arrow and The Flash in their upcoming seasons.

First episode is out. Wasn't bad but at only 5 minutes it feels like the trailer to an actual show.

Well they did say that the ENTIRE first season will only total 30 minutes across 6 episodes.... so you'd assume that every episode will be 5 minutes or less.

They would be wise to play this as a continuing short during the Flash or Arrow on the CW.

Yeah I don't like that it's been put on this CW Seed. Just put it on TV.

I think they just cut up a 30 minute episode and called it 5 episodes. The Gods and Monsters shorts felt like 5 minute episodes. They had a start middle and end. This first episode feels like the first few minutes of a normal sized episode.

I'm going to wait to all the episodes are out before watching more of this.

Season 2 has been approved, and will run in prime-time. Also it looks like they are considering adding the character to S2 of LoT.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 30

"VIXEN" - (8:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (CONTENT RATING TBD) (HDTV)

Originally from Africa, Mari McCabe's (voiced by Megalyn Echikunwoke) parents were killed by local greed, corruption, and wanton violence. But the orphaned Mari refuses to succumb to the terrors surrounding her. Inheriting her family's Tantu Totem, Mari can access the powers of animals -- anything from the super-strength of a gorilla to the speed of a cheetah. As Vixen, she fights valiantly to protect the world from the threats like those that claimed her family. Based on characters from DC Comics, VIXEN is produced by Blue Ribbon Content and Warner Bros. Animation, with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Andrew Kriesberg.

The CW Seed show — executive-produced by Arrow‘s Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg — follows Mari McCabe/Vixen, an orphan who can mimic the abilities of any animal via a totem necklace. Megalyn E.K. voices the character and appeared in the flesh during Arrow Season 4 as the live-action version of Mari. The hero’s legacy extends to Legends of Tomorrow, where Maisie Richardson-Sellers plays Mari’s grandmother and the 1940s incarnation of Vixen, Amaya.

During its run, Vixen featured guest-voice spots from Stephen Amell (Arrow), Grant Gustin (The Flash), Emily Bett Rickards (Arrow), Carlos Valdes (The Flash), Katie Cassidy (Arrow), Victor Garber (Legends of Tomorrow), Brandon Routh (Legends of Tomorrow) and Franz Drameh (Legends of Tomorrow).

Headsup this premieres on TV this Wednesday on The CW. Set your DVRs. I'm sure most here never watched this on The CW seed. Also, the CW didn't really promote this.

This is the 1st 2 seasons of the CW Seed animated short edited together as a 2 hour movie. It features all the principal voices from Arrow and The Flash

Yep, it's what they released as Vixen on Blu-ray. There is new footage that was added to Vixen for that home video release, so if you only watched on CW Seed there is about 15 minutes of new content.

I think most people who wanted to have caught it in some form or another already.

When is the CW Seed Constatine series supposed to come out? I'm still hoping it's delay of release means they're trying to get Matt Ryan on board with LoT.

I'm just pointing out that it's airing on TV so people can DVR it for those who haven't seen it yet like me. Otherwise the TV airing would go unnoticed.

Not everyone bought the BD, digital copy, streamed the web series.
