Barbara while easy on eyes has got to go. Her storyline is boring and dumb.
In fact I wish most romantic subplots would disappear from superhero shows and movies.
Most of them aren't very good plot devices.

Isn't she the future mother of Bat Girl? Or is Jim supposed to meet someone else in the future?

Jim could always meet another woman named "Barbara".

Yeah, though easy on the eyes, Barbara brings the show down and diminishes both Gordon and Montoya. Seriously, I get that Barbara is hot but I actually see zero romantic chemistry with her and Jim or Montoya. At this point, I'd sooner believe a romantic pairing between Bullock and Gordon.

Barbara has become the Lori of the show, she is seriously dragging it down with her bullshit, and I agree, at this point id be totally down with shipping Bullock and Gordon. Otherwise, good ep.

This was easily my least-favorite episode of Season 1. I've stated in prior threads that I'm not sure this series needs Bruce Wayne...that might be true, but it sure as hell needs Alfred, who was really missed this week. That, combined with little screentime for Bullock resulted in a lackluster episode.

Makes sense.

I don't know the comics. Is Gruber a recurring character there?

hanshotfirst1138 01-08-15 06:35 PM

Apparently a Chuck Dixon creation.

Is Gruber's name a Lovecraft reference? My first thought when I heard the name was Re-Animator, and I know Arkham is a Lovecraft reference.

At this point, I'll be really upset if they don't make Barbara into a full-on villain.

That's who I kept thinking about whenever they said his name.

Also, I kept calling the character in the this episode the Swede.

I love this show. I am not wrapped up in the Batman side plot, and could care less how faithful it is to the comics. I just enjoy it for what it is, a cop/mob drama in a somewhat fantastic world. Besides Bruce will never be Batman so who cares? I like pretty much everything.

He was confirmed to make an appearance back in November, and now the date is set for an early incarnation of famed Batman villain The Scarecrow to pop up on the first season of FOX's "Gotham".

The sixteenth episode of the season is to be titled "The Fearsome Dr. Crane" and finds Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock hunting down a killer who targets victims with severe phobias. The episode is slated to screen on February 2nd.

It has been previously stated that Jonathan Crane will be another child/teen actor in this, which means the 'Dr. Crane' may not be Jonathan but a relation. The cast list for the episode hasn't been revealed so it's not certain who will play the role as yet.
