Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will distribute in North America the first season of the TNT series The Librarians on DVD, as well as the telepic trilogy on which the show is based.
The Librarian movies -— Quest for the Spear, The Librarian: Return to King Solomon’s Mines and The Librarian: Curse of the Judas Chalice — will be available this fall on DVD, along with the first season of the series, which will have an upcoming third season on the cable network.
The telefilms and show center on an ancient organization hidden beneath the Metropolitan Public Library. Rebecca Romijn and Christian Kane star in the series, while Noah Wyle headed up the TV movies.
The first telepic in the trilogy was U.S. basic cable’s No. 1 movie when it was released in 2004.
The distribution deal was made in association with Dean Devlin’s Electric Entertainment, which produces the show.

Just watched a Hallmark Christmas movie with Lindy Booth. Looking forward to this returning!

I've been behind this season; 3 episodes left to watch. Still enjoy it for what it is.

I watch every week. The show is light fun, so I enjoy it while it's on, but don't think about it much while I'm not watching.
I think this season had the most episodes with Noah Wyle, which makes some sense, since Falling Skies finally ended, freeing up his schedule somewhat.
It did seem like (spoilers for Noonan or anyone else behind):

I'm guessing Wyle will be back in a semi-regular role if he doesn't find another series. The Librarians works so much better when he's around.

Spoiler:
I kinda hope Vanessa Williams will be around next season. The writers didn't seem to do much with her character.

What's the deal with broadcasting two episodes per day? Burning off episodes like that is what dead series do.

I had a question about the double episodes myself. I liked the episodes though I thought the previous guardian storyline came out of nowhere.

They've done double-episode premieres before, and the double-episode thing is only for the first 3 weeks, after which it goes back to once a week. That's the opposite of a "burn-off" where the double episodes come at the end of the season.
The season is 2 episodes more this year (10 instead of 12), so maybe they're just trying to squeeze the season into the same overall timeframe.

I actually enjoyed the opening episodes more than usual for this series. It was great seeing the return of that original guardian from the movie.

I really liked the movie episode though I wish they had done more with Margaret Avery. Jones' mom annoyed me. Ezekiel said multiple times, don't say my name but his mom does it anyway. That seems like a thief no-brainer: don't say your real name.

Cancelled after 4 seasons: http://tvline.com/2018/03/08/librari...d-no-season-5/
Honestly, I never really got into this show. I was a fan of the Wyle TV movies that were the pre-cursor to the show. I watched season 1 and it basically fell off my radar a few episodes into season 2. It's not that I didn't find it entertaining. It's just that it was never "Must see" TV and became expendable with the massive glut of TV on.
Story says they will try to find a new home.

It's ok, but not nearly as good as some of the other fantasy shows out there. It kind of dumbs itself down for the audience.
Lindy Booth is so pretty tho...

I'm a bit bummed, but at least the last season ended on a good end point, no crazy cliffhanger or anything. Also, they finally got a "it's bigger on the inside" during this past season.

It was a light, fun show with a decent cast. I'll miss it but I'm glad it didn't end on a cliffhanger.

I'm a bit disappointed too, but not hugely so. The creator said they'll try to find another home for it, maybe they'll have luck?
I've actually been catching up recently with S4, which has been a bit of a struggle as my On Demand keeps switching episodes in and out and seemingly never having them all available together. Only 2 left now though.

Doubtful they'll be able to find a new home. Most networks simply don't want to pick up others leftovers.
Hulu and Netflix haven't saved any shows in a few years already. They are focused on developing their own shows.

I still need to watch season 4. I dropped cable last year so I wasn't able to watch it as it aired. It was a fun show--sorry to hear its cancelled.
