I could have sworn there was a thread for "Wentworth" here. Because I feel like I've talked about it with a few fans of the original series. But I can't find it anywhere when I do a search. Anyway, I came here to tell fans that "Wentworth" is streaming on Netflix. To the best of my knowledge, it never aired on American television. Which is a shame. It's a great show. Doesn't have that soap feeling that the original series did. It's more gritty not camp. Highly recommended.

Not even close. The only thing in common is women in prison. It's the same characters as the original "Prisoner".

I just finished watching both Seasons on Netflix. Really well done and now I am "jonesing" for a third season to watch! When I was a kid I used to watch...or should I say...try to watch Prisoner of Cell Block H and I got in trouble every time. Now I know why. No way should I have been watching that show! Very enjoyable and nothing like Orange is the New Black.
If anyone has other shows they want to recommend please feel free!

Agree. I can't wait for Season 3!! And yes, this and "Black" are nothing alike.

I have another show to recommend. It's not about women in prison, but it's excellent. It's called "Broadchurch" (also streaming on Netflix) and I put it on at 7:00 PM last night just to sample. And I'll be damned if it didn't suck me in within the first few minutes. It has 8 episodes and I watched them all. Went to bed around 2:30 AM BTW, they did a remake of it in the U.S. this past Fall called "Gracepoint". I made the mistake of watching the first episode of that series. Not very good. But the U.S. version is literally a shot for shot of the far superior British version the first 20 minutes or so. Check it out!

Just finished watching both seasons and it's sad when we only catch these shows on Netflix or home video after the fact and don't really get to discuss it in the same way we do all the network shows. This show is truly incredible and much better than most of the crap we have threads for. Anyway, I look forward to more of it in the future.

Wife and have been binging on this the past couple of weeks over the holiday period and have maybe 5 episodes left -really dig the show and enjoying immensely.

There will be a 3rd season, although not sure when it will air in Australia so who knows when we'll get it here on Netflix. Hate that it's not shown anywhere here, maybe someone will pick it up

I believe in some prison systems that is allowed. I have no idea how the Australian prison system is run but perhaps they actually do that sort of thing.

I remember seeing a kid in another prison show. I can't remember if it was Bad Girls or Capadocia.
