Kind of a bland episode with not a lot of laughs, typical social satire fare. The ending, though...omg, I was rolling.

I thought it was great. Those freemium games are like crack. Simpsons, Candy Crush, etc. I absolutely loved the alcohol commercial within the show. That might've been the best thing they've done in years.

I generally liked the episode, but the Canada thing is getting lame. It's a running gag they've continually driven into the ground when they can't come up with a proper antagonist.

I like how reasonable satan has always been though the years.
Also liked all of randy's explanations. "I'm not having a glass of wine, I'm having 6. It's called a tasting and it's very classy".
The commercial was great also.

What's up with the uncensored version of this episode? Bleeps galore, but the alcohol commercial kept the uses of the word "fuck" unbleeped.
The ending was great, but that alcohol commercial was brilliant.

I still love the continuity this year.
"$26,000? Do you know how many songs I have to write to make back that much money?"
"I am not chugging beer. I'm sampling gluten free German lagers with a French wine pairing."

Is Randy ever not fantastic?
I really think he may be my all time favorite character on any TV show.

I was coming to comment on the same thing: I *love* how they're sticking to their guns this season with Randy actually being Lorde. That's just amazing, and out of character for a show nearing two decades in age. The "$26k?! Do you know how many songs I have to write to pay for that?"
"Umm... One?"
Hysterical.
Also awesome, and seemingly lost in the Freemium critique? The addiction nonsense where charlatans try to cram higher powers down the throats of folks vulnerable and deeply lost as it is. Stan "praying" to Satan, who then comes in and gives his dopamine skit? Perfect.
Basically saying that "surrendering to a higher power" is not necessarily the answer, but that addiction = the result of evolving for survival, where the brain rewards positive/beneficial traits with dopamine releases to reinforce the behavior, and addiction is a result of that being perverted/broken in those addicted to... whatever. When Satan has to be the one spouting sense, you know you're in trouble. Maybe "Lorde's" next hit will be called "Dopamine" - a perfect song title.
Writing that, I do think they missed out on just one thing last night: With the Devil's return, especially in the Marsh household, they should've made reference to Randy having sold his soul to make that happen. Satan saying, "Hey, thanks again for the soul, mortal fool! How's that Lorde thing working out for you?" Randy, "Oh, you know how it goes. Pays the bills." Satan again, "Yep, yep... but did you have to name yourself after my immortal enemy? I mean, really now? Dude, what's up with that? I give you everything you ask for, and you use it to mock me? Not cool, man, really not cool." Randy, "Hey, I added an E to it! Totally a different thing! It was meant as a gesture of respect, my lord and master! The E, for evil? You know, the Lord of Evil? I only seek to give praise to you, Dark One. Praise Satan!"
Meanwhile, Stan was across the room staring on in shock/horror. In my opinion, that would've been good for adding yet another laugh to an already great episode.

Randy is probably their most reliably funny character at this point, as they have done everything possible with the rest of South Park's characters. I loved the extended joke about him hiding his alcoholism behind snobby wine tasting events.

This episode was great. When the KING CEO came out to defend the micropay model he said that the majority of people that play Candy Crush don't pay for it. Which, to me, made it so much worse because it meant that the gobs of money the game was making was from a small group of "addicts". I'm happy to see that South Park called them out on that.
"want to put money on it?" -- Randy is hilarious

I really don't get paying for all of this shit. I eventually got bored with CCS and quit playing once I hit a level I couldn't beat in a day or two.

Ah. Remember when games had secret cheats for free? Now you have to pay in order to do an up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A.
Seriously though, games these days don't have cheats, like infinite bullets or god-mode like they used to, before the days of DLC.

No. Not even close. A Family Guy cut away gag is one that has no link to the plot of the episode you are watching. This had a clear connection to the story being told.

There's two uses of "fuck" during the alcohol commercial, both during the last ten seconds. The phrases are "fucking this girl" and "drink it all you fucking pussy."
When you watch it on television or the YouTube clip posted above, you can hear the bleeps. Watch it using the Comedy Central app, both uses of "fuck" are not bleeped while the rest of the episode's uses of it are.
