Picked up for a full 22 episode season today:

http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news/2.../20141021cw01/

Could possibly end up with 23 episodes like Arrow, but won't know until later this season.

A certain fixture on Arrow will guest star next week:

Whoa, Anthony Carrigan. I went to high school with that dude

Enjoyed the interaction with the main characters but the anything with the Mist was pretty meh. The final battle was anti-climactic.

When Caitlin's fiancé was inside the accelerator, what he saw was pretty Flash-like. Makes me wonder if...

Spoiler:
they're leaning toward the Post-Crisis explanation as to what happened to Barry after he died during the Crisis (before the introduction of the Speed Force in the 90s). He broke apart and became the lightning bolt that turned him into the Flash in the first place. I wonder if Dr. Wells, knowing that Barry will die in the Crisis, travelled back to create the accelerator and "capture" Barry's energy to create that lightning bolt?

So when Barry is running and Cisco is talking through the communictor-thingie, how does he not sound really slow? And how does Barry not sound like a chipmunk?

Dammit! Stop thinking!
I picked up a few things like that but I just ignore them.

Robbie Amell sighting!! At least he's not playing a high school student, which was ridiculous on The Tomorrow People. Looking forward to him returning as Firestorm.

Thought it was a fun episode, yet it was mostly villain/freak of the week.

The Gas man wasn't the most intimidating villain I've seen on one of these comic themed dramas.

I'm intrigued by Wells and whatever his motives may be. The previous episode teased that he knew something about The Flash's future. So, the end of this episode looked like he knew the exact timing of when Barry would be struck. Has Wells seen the future? I'm intrigued to find out more.

Hell if he's running faster than the speed of sound, how does he hear at all?

For whatever reason, I think this was the best episode thus far. I'm digging the supporting cast as much as I'm digging Flash.

Well, that was blatantly stupid. They don't erase someone's record just because he was executed. Especially since he was an assassin. I liked the reference to Doom Patrol on the theatre.

which also indicates he had his "powers" before the accident not caused by it

If people want to stay unspoiled for this series, I would strongly advise against reading Valeyard's spoilered speculation.

The CW is closely watching for a possible Firestorm spin-off.

Okay, in the FLASHback, Harrison Wells said, "I feel like I've been waiting for this moment for centuries." Foreshadowing?

So, based on what Barry's father said to him at the end, do you think he recognized his own son inside the mask or not?

Looking forward to next week. The more Felicity the better. LOOOOOVE me some Emily Bett Rickards.

Really enjoying this show. I know next to nothing about the Flash so much discussion on hints and references is over me.

Looking forward to seeing where all this goes.

I find it odd how the writers have attached the name of a hero/villain to almost every character in the series... whether they have powers or not.

Three of my kids (10yo boy, 14yo girl, and 16yo boy) love to watch The Flash with me. Good family fun. :)

I think that is a reaction to what happened on Arrow during its first season. That show pretty consciously avoided using a lot of specific DC Comics references (Starling City, really?) and fans got upset. They've since stopped doing that and the Flash seems to have embraced every comic book character possible. I'm now just waiting for the Tornado Twins to make an appearance.

Decent episode. Pluses for the Ronnie Raymond flashback scenes. Minus for the pedestrian way the Mist was taken out.

I thought they were just throwing names around. That isn't the Mist I remember.

Speaking of Starman they should have done the Jack Knight version for a TV series. If they were going for 2nd stringers he would have been a good choice. It was one of the best stories that DC put out and it has an actual ending. I know they were throwing that idea around years ago but nothing became of it.

I find it ironic that a major plot point is how Barry's father is unjustly imprisoned and yet nobody bats an eye when they decide to start capturing and imprisoning people without any due process and holding them in what are undoubtedly inhumane conditions.
