I'm kind of with Penny here; Leonard is being insecure and immature now that she can sustain herself financially. She looks horrible with the short hair, IMO.

God, I love Bernadette. "How....much!" LOL.

Love that Johnny Cash song, listed to that album the other day. Great stuff. Great stuff.

Raj's obsession with Miley Cyrus is scaring me.

Howard doesn't have a dishwasher?

"I don't usually like lemon bars, but these are good." LOL

A claustrophobic person should not even think about doing anything even remotely like what Sheldon is doing.

Nice to see a nice bit of actual reflection on Sheldon's part. It's scary to take stock of your life. God, it's scary.

"11 minutes. That's longer than I thought."
The potential for an obvious dirty joke here is screaming out.

I know that rats that size exist, but it's still terrifying to see.

Ouch! Poor Bernadette's head!

The Howard and Bernadette part was funny, everything else was kind of bleh.

As dumb as it may sound I enjoyed most every part of the episode, but not the episode as a whole. Thought the bit with Howard thinking Leonard and Penny were going to ask them to swing was hilarious. You'd think Howard would be more excited over the prospect at finally getting a shot at Penny even if he was wrong.

So is Kaley Cuoco's entire performance now duckface-based? It seems like it's her go-to expression for everything anymore.

Other than her, I enjoyed the episode, especially Sheldon struggling with the changes in his life.

I wonder if that means Howard and Bernadette are swinging with other people.

I'm not really sure what look they were going for with Penny and that horrible lipstick color and bad haircut.

I have never used the dishwasher in my life. I wouldn't even know how. It's so much easier to just hand wash.

I've had a dishwasher my entire life. I could take a stab that I would know how clean dishes by hand (I would posit that it includes applying soap and water), but I would find cleaning them individually to be annoying.

Her comic timing is decent, but I have a feeling that isn't why they hired her.

Says the guy who has never used a dishwasher in his life and has no frame of reference. Pushing one button and having clean, dry dishes a little while later is much easier than washing by hand.

They didn't go with that bad haircut, it was her decision.

Outside of the obvious, I've read they chose her because she played "nice" with the nerds very well and that it didn't come off as charity of condescending.

This is Felicity all over again!

Now if you'll excuse me I've got to sit on the bathroom floor and cut myself...

Kaley Cuoco's script excerpt:

Wear something skimpy, make face like someone farted, read line poorly. Everyone will be so fascinated with your tits, it doesn't matter what you say.

Huh, I always thought Kaley was pretty good in her role. Some of her facial expressions have made me laugh, and i'd hardly say she reads lines poorly either. She's not a good actress by any means, but fits the role just fine beyond her looks.

That sums up this forum.

I always thought she worked well when paired with Jim Parsons. They seem to play off each other nicely. She just has zero chemistry with Johnny Galecki.

Re: The Big Bang Theory (S8E06) -- "The Expedition Approximation" -- 10/20/14

I watched the last couple of episodes last night and thought they were alright. The season started off sort of rocky if you ask me but it seems to be getting back in the swing of things. I'm still not sure I like the direction the show is taking with Penny as it just seems like a really sudden shift in direction for her character to drop trying to be an actress and doing something completely different. Also the hair still isn't doing it for me. I think only certain women are really able to pull off a shorter look well and I don't think she looks awful but she's better looking with longer hair.

This episode had some decent moments. I liked the stuff between Howard and Bernadette quite a bit. I think overall I like them best as a couple on the show. The Leonard and Penny drama and fighting over dumb stuff gets old. I would have agreed with his proposal to just put the money into a joint account to use for the wedding or whatever personally.
